Half Term Fun in Hereford & Worcester
Half term is rapidly approaching, with the kids off school from 16 February to Friday 20 February this year.
Many of us want to know about local childcare options. And we all want to know what’s on over the half term.
Here are a few of the best….
Childcare
If you need childcare during your working hours, some nurseries may be able to help. Wyeside Day Nursery in Hereford is a popular choice, with it’s central location, and lots of great activities to ensure the children have fun.
The other option is to enrol the children into a local kids camps. These offer the perfect chance for your children to polish up on some of their sporting skills, or even try something new.
Team Super Sports run their mix and match camps, where your child can choose to do an entire day of the sport they love, or mix it up and receive professional coaching in a range of sports. including Football, Cricket, Rugby, Netball, Gymnastics, Hockey and Tennis. All Star Activities are running their half term holiday campo at Holmer School in Hereford, offering a range of activities, tailored to each of three age groups; reception to year 2, year 3 to year 5 and year 6 to year 8. Activities range from sports including football, basketball, tennis, softball; crafts based on the theme of the week (February’s theme is World of Books); games including relays, bulldogs, benchball, and trips including swimming, bowling, farm park and All Star Adventure Park. Oaker Wood near Kingsland in Herefordshire run kids activity days during school holidays. Each day is different and children participate in various activities including High Ropes such as our 100m Zip Wire, Gladiator Climbing Challenge & Monkey Climbing, together with the Low Ropes Assault Course, Wild Camp, Outdoor Pizza Making, Den Building, Target Shooting and Woodland Games. What’s On Over Half Term
For a full and fabulous day out, you can’t go far wrong with a trip to West Midlands Safari Park. This is their ever popular Character Week, where your children can meet their favourite characters, including PAW Patrol’s Chase, Peppa Pig, Bluey, Paddington, and making their first-time appearances: Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse and SpongeBob SquarePants! They will be making personal appearances at intervals on selected dates during free Meet & Greet sessions! Click here for details.
Head over to The Courtyard Theatre in Hereford for some great entertainment. The Spongebob Movie: Search For Squarepants is running until 19th February, or how about taking the kids to see Hereford Amateur Pantomime Society’s panto Jack & The Beanstalk, running from 18th – 21st. Swan Theatre in Worcester has the Utterly Revolting Science Show. Expect enormous bottoms, edible fireworks, burp machines and the world’s loudest fart in this riotous science spectacular. Just the kind of gross most kids love! Find this and other events on their website here.
The Commandery in Worcester is holding another fabulous Living History weekend on 21st & 22nd February. Explore living history encampments and watch marvellous military displays as the site becomes alive with performances by musicians and dancers. Encounter reenactors throughout the beautiful Grade-1 listed building and gardens, where they’ll be demonstrating and displaying historical weaponry. Visit the website here.
Bennetts Willow Barn at Lower Wick in Worcester is always a lovely place to visit, and they have some great events throughout the holidays. This half term they have a Bouncy Castle Fun Day on 16th, Discos with Get Glitz on 17th, Biscuit decorating on 18th, Animal Encounters with DWAEC on 19th, and K-Pop Demon Hunters Party on 20th.
