Special steaming at Claymills Victorian Pumping Station, Burton-on-Trent

Tuesday 31st May
Jubilee-themed crafts, Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, Swadlincote

Come along and get creative with our Jubilee themed crafts! Make a crown, queens guard and more! These sessions are suitable for all ages! You take your creations home on the day. This is a self-led activity. Don’t forget if you are an Edmund Buddy Family member you get discounted tickets! Thursday 2nd June
Afternoon Tea Party, Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, Swadlincote

Join us for an afternoon at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee including an Afternoon Tea from Sweet Caroline at Sharpe’s, music, entertainment with Dancing with Karen, games and more! Tables seat up to 6 people and will be located in various areas of the museum including Kiln and Cafe. View the menu here. Friday 3rd June
Platinum Jubilee Fun Day, Parish Memorial Gardens, Donisthorpe

Join us to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee! Bar – Tombola – Live Music – Food Vans – Raffle – Ice Creams – Kids Crafts – Games – Bouncy Castle – Races – Fun & More. Plus a Lancaster Bomber Fly Past! This event has been organised by Donisthorpe Community Group. Parish Memorial Gardens, Church Street, Donisthorpe, Derbyshire, DE12 7QA. 11am-4pm.

Hold a Bird Sessions, ARD Birds of Prey, Rosliston Forestry Centre

£3 per person, with no need to book. ARD Birds of Prey based within Rosliston Forestry Centre. DE12 8JX. 10am-4pm. Also Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June at the same times.

Saturday 4th June
Jubilee Military Parade with the Royal Engineers (170 Infrastructure Support Engineer Group), from Cathedral Green to outside the Council House, Derby city centre.

Troops from the Royal Engineers (170 Infrastructure Support Engineer Group) will parade from Cathedral Green to a marching band. At the Council House they will give a Royal Salute to the Lord Lieutenant and their Commander, Colonel Gavin Hatcher OBE, commanding officers, The Mayor of Derby and High Sherriff, followed by the National Anthem. To mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a special commemorative medal will be awarded to serving frontline members of the police, fire, emergency services, prison services and the Armed Forces. Acting as a token of the nation’s thanks, the Platinum Jubilee Medal follows a long history of awarding medals to mark Royal Jubilees, with the first one awarded to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s reign in 1887. The ceremonies will be broadcast live on the Big Screens in the Market Place. Free event. 1-2pm.

Sunday 5th June
Free Jubilee Party, Walton-on-Trent Cricket Club, DE12 8NA
Bring your own picnic blankets, chairs and food to Walton-on-Trent Cricket Club for this free community event. There is a licensed bar and pork rolls also available from the club. Entertainment from Dorothy Ella Martin & Paul Brown, a magic show, plus a Jubilee-themed fancy dress competition for the kids and a singing performance from some of the students of Walton on Trent School.

Big Jubilee Lunch, Derby Market Place, DE1 3AE

Join us for our Jubilee celebrations in Derby Marketplace. To coincide with the Platinum Jubilee, The Big Jubilee Lunch will be taking place on Sun 5 June across the nation, and will bring the communities of Derby together to get to know each other a little better. Hosted by BBC’s Radio Derby’s Andy Twigge and taking place in the heart of Derby’s Cathedral Quarter, the Market Place will play see hundreds of you come together to share friendship, food and fun. It’s the party that’s right up your street and if you don’t have a celebration in yours, then come and join ours! Everyone is invited, don’t forget your Jubilee picnic! You can expect a diverse and entertaining stage show with acts including Sinfonia Viva with show tunes from the last 70 years, music from Surtal Arts with Dhol Frequency and Sandeep Raval Global Rhythm and Ukrainian folk dancing with Hoverla, plus more local cultural organisations. This will be followed by a screening of the BBC coverage of the weekend highlights from London, all projected on a big screen for everyone to see. Click here for more information.
