The Adventures of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey
Reviewed by Rory, Age 5
“The Adventures of Captain Underpants is a really funny book all about a headmaster who is a superhero who wears only his underpants and a cape! George and Harold are two very funny schoolboys who bring brilliant pranks into school, making life really hard for Mr Krupp. In this book they transform Mr Krupp into Captain Underpants before having to defeat Dr Diaper, who is who is trying to take over the world with his robot inventions. He has stolen a crystal which they try to get back in a hilarious way. This book is full of slapstick humour guaranteed to make people of all ages laugh.
‘George and Harold are really funny because they are so silly. They’d get into lots of trouble if they went to my school!’”

The Whale Who Wanted More by Rachel Bright and Jim Field
Reviewed by Emma, Age 5
“This book is about a whale called Humphrey who collects lots of things from the sea. He thinks having more stuff will make him happy but it doesn’t. I love the rhymes and the pictures are so pretty, especially all the sparkly treasures! My favourite part is when Humphrey meets the little crab who teaches him that friends are better than things. Mummy says it’s a good reminder for me too!”
