Halloween in Leicestershire means one thing: it’s pumpkin patch season. From sprawling farm trails with tractor rides and corn mazes, to cosy local patches perfect for little legs, there’s no shortage of ways to get your family into the spooky spirit this October. I’ve done the digging (sorry) to bring you the best pumpkin patches and Halloween events happening across the Leicester and surrounding villages. Perfect for choosing that all-important pumpkin, snapping some seasonal photos, and getting properly ready for spooky season!
Gorse Hill City Farm’s Spooktacular Pumpkin Patch
17th-31st October 2026 | 10am-6pm daily
Brand new to Leicester this year, Gorse Hill City Farm is going all out for Halloween. Wander the pumpkin patch, brave the family-friendly spooky trail, and take on the creepy maze if you dare. There are ‘real’ live dinosaurs courtesy of Alfie Exotics, farm animals to say hello to, and Appletons Fun Fair. Food and refreshments are available, and usual farm entry applies.

Leicester Monsters Returns!
22nd-31st October 2026 | Free
The monsters are back! After causing a monster-sized stir in 2023, Leicester’s favourite giant creatures are taking over the city centre once again for a free family trail. Keep your eyes peeled as giant installations pop up in unexpected places peering over rooftops, squeezing through windows and generally causing quirky chaos. Follow the trail through the city centre, meet every monster, and make a day (or several) of it right through half term and all the way to Halloween. Monster hunting works up an appetite too – Leicester Restaurant Week runs alongside the trail, with offers at cafés and restaurants across the city centre to fuel your adventure.

Halloween Spooktacular & Pumpkin Patch at Windmill Farm Park
Weekends throughout October, plus daily 17th-31st October | 10am-4pm
Wickedly good fun for the whole family, with plenty included in the ticket price: each paying child gets a free homegrown pumpkin, a witch’s hat, magic scroll and “boo bucks” to spend on the day. There’s a Potion Making Workshop, spooky crafts, a Witches Hat Parade, a Cobweb Maze, the Wicked Woods, two trails with a prize at the end, a hayride down to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, the last tractor rides of the year, a Best Dressed Costume Contest, Fall Festival games, and both indoor and outdoor play areas, plus the usual farm fun on top.

Pumpkin Season at Broom Leys Farm
Weekends from 3rd-4th October, then every weekend through October, plus daily during half term
A pumpkin patch that’s building up nicely for 2026, with new attractions and further details to be announced in the coming weeks. Based on last year’s format, expect home-grown pumpkins, a large dinosaur-themed corn maze, tractor and barrel train rides, an undercover inflatable dome, and all the usual farm animals – donkeys, alpacas and friendly goats to pet and feed. Plus fairground rides, seasonal food and drink, and some spooky (and some friendly) Halloween animatronics for photo ops. It’s usually free to browse the pre-picked pumpkins and stalls, with a ticket only needed to enter the main event field. (2026 online booking will be available soon – worth checking back for the full programme before you plan your visit.)

Family Scream Park at Twinlakes
19th October – 3rd November 2026
Twinlakes’ award-winning Family Scream Park returns with loads of freaky family fun. Step inside Farmer Phil’s pumpkin display for a free PYO pumpkin to decorate or carve, visit the Witch’s Wagon for Halloween-inspired prizes and thrills, and meet friendly Halloween host Marty the Monster for photos. There’s also the “Mummify Your Mummy” competition daily from 18th October to 2nd November, and a brand-new Family Rave running 20th–31st October with a resident DJ, Halloween activities and competitions.

PumpkinFest at Manor Farm Park & Woodlands
17th-31st October 2026 | 10am-5pm
An action-packed autumn day out with pumpkins and magical mischief at its heart. Step into the undercover pumpkin patch and be handed your very own perfect pumpkin – no picking required, rain or shine. Then test your creativity in the pumpkin carving championship, guess how many pumpkins were grown on the farm this year, and take aim at the Pumpkin Cannon. There’s also the School of Wizardry & Witchcraft in the woodlands, plus the rest of the farm to explore: indoor play centre, the Dinosaur Roar! Discovery Trail, animal activities and falconry displays. A free pumpkin is included for every paying child, and Halloween fun runs daily from 11am-4pm. Just over the Leicestershire border near East Leake.

Belvoir’s Enchanted Halloween Trail
October half term | Leicestershire/Lincolnshire border
A pesky witch has cursed Belvoir, can your family break the spell? This year’s trail sends Curse Breakers on a three-part mission: hunt down hidden spell ingredients across the enchanted Adventure Playground, track down the password animal among Stuart’s cursed friends in the Animal Park, then brew the counter-curse at the cauldron in the Retail Village before midnight. Every Curse Breaker who completes the mission earns a treat. Tickets include the trail, Animal Park entry and the treat, book online to secure your dates.

Room on the Broom Corn Maze at Twycross Zoo
October 2026 | New for this year
An all-new adventure lands at Twycross Zoo this October, the Room on the Broom corn maze. Wander through towering corn, follow a trail of magical clues, and discover cheeky creatures along the way, for plenty of whooshing, zooming family fun. It’s shaping up to be the perfect autumn adventure for little explorers. (More details, including exact dates, are still to be confirmed by the zoo, worth checking back nearer the time).

Halloween Forest Light Walk at Conkers
Wednesday 28th – Saturday 31st October | Doors 5pm, disco 5.30-9.30pm
A spooktacular Halloween evening filled with thrilling activities and eerie decorations. Start with a ride on the ghost train, then explore a forest light walk through the haunted woods. Expect a few surprises along the way, before catching the train back for a 4D cinema showing (join Sonic and Chip as they shelter from a storm in a creepy old mansion, do you dare watch?), indoor play and spooky mask-making crafts with the Rangers. There’s also a fang-tastic disco with prizes for best dressed, and food and drink available at the Explorers Rest Restaurant. Free parking on site.

The Pumpkin Patch Festival at West Lodge Farm Park
10th-31st October 2026 | 9:30am-6pm
A gentle, family-friendly autumn adventure that’s fun rather than frightful. Collect your Pumpkin Passport on arrival, then wander through thousands of pumpkins to find your favourite, climb aboard the fun and bumpy Spooky Tractor Ride, craft your own magical wand, and discover Halloween surprises along the way. Run through the Scarecrow Patch, creep through the Cobweb Tunnel, and enjoy laugh-out-loud panto-style ghost stories that are full of fun rather than fright – a lovely option for families who want the Halloween spirit without anything too scary. Worth noting this one’s a little further afield, on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire border. (Pumpkins are individually priced and there’s a small extra charge for the Spooky Tractor Ride; tickets go on sale 28th August at 7pm.)

Halloween isn’t only for the little ones – here’s a couple to book once the babysitter’s confirmed.
Halloween (1978) at Leicester Guildhall
Friday 30th October 2026 | Doors 8pm, film 8.15pm
Prefer your scares classic and cinematic? Settle in for John Carpenter’s legendary slasher, screened in the atmospheric surroundings of Leicester Guildhall’s Great Hall, a building with a genuinely haunted reputation of its own. Centuries-old timber beams and flickering candlelight make the perfect backdrop for Michael Myers’ Halloween night rampage. Recommended for horror fans and anyone brave enough to spend the evening in one of Leicester’s most haunted historic buildings.

Xtreme Scream Park
Twinlakes Park, Melton Mowbray | Adults only – 1st-4th October 2026
Lock in that babysitter, because this one’s strictly grown-ups only. Twinlakes’ family-friendly theme park transforms after dark into the Midlands’ biggest scare event, with seven spine-chilling scare mazes, roaming scare actors, stilt walkers, fire performers and live street theatre. There’s a fully stocked bar and street food to refuel between screams, plus a “zombie paintball” attraction for the brave.
