A rainbow wind catcher is an easy craft that looks great hanging in a window, garden, or bedroom.
You’ll Need
- 1 paper plate (or a cardboard circle)
- Paint, crayons, or markers
- Ribbon, crepe paper, tissue paper strips, or yarn in rainbow colours
- Hole punch
- String
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
Instructions
- Make the rainbow
- Cut the centre out of a paper plate, leaving a ring about 2–3 cm wide.
- Decorate the ring with rainbow colours.
- Let any paint dry completely.
- Add the streamers
- Cut strips of ribbon, crepe paper, or tissue paper.
- Glue or tape them to the bottom half of the ring.
- Use a mix of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple strips.
- Make some strips longer than others for a flowing effect.
- Create a hanging loop
- Punch two holes near the top of the ring.
- Thread a piece of string through the holes and tie it into a loop.
- Hang it up
- Hang it near a window, on a porch, or from a tree branch.
- Watch the colourful streamers dance in the breeze.
