Music for the Senses art trail

Music for the Senses: an art arrangement for a musical city’. A collaboration between global art producer Wild in Art, and Manchester City Council, the huge art trail will run from July 7 until August 31 2025.
Manchester is the place for music, and this summer, while the city celebrates an incredible line up of musical talent, Wild in Art – the team behind the award-winning Bee in the City – will take over the streets with a brand new art trail, Music for the Senses: an art arrangement for a musical city.
Created in collaboration with Manchester City Council, the trail will run from 7 July – 31 August 2025.
The trail will feature artworks, exhibitions and installations that celebrate the people, places, moments and instruments of Manchester’s music scene.
At the end of the trail the decorated guitars will be auctioned to raise money to support grassroots music projects and venues throughout Greater Manchester via a dedicated music fund managed by our charity partner Forever Manchester, in collaboration with Manchester Music City.
Music for the Senses will feature artworks, exhibitions and installations that celebrate the people, places, moments and instruments of Manchester’s music scene.
Guitars will be painted or adorned by professional artists, turning them into individual artworks, and displayed in shop windows and venues around the city
Plus, discover a sculptural guitar inspired installation by Manchester artist Liam Hopkins, known as Lazerian. Liam’s artwork will lovingly repurpose broken guitars, donated by members of the public.
Explore the trail using the Music for the Senses app. Use the interactive map to find your way and unlock each display with a unique four-digit code found at the location. As you progress, you’ll also earn exciting rewards from local businesses.
Printed trail maps will also be available to pick up.
