Let imaginations soar with hands-on activities like creating leaf collages, and on Halloween, kids can get extra crafty by making their very own spooky lanterns to take home. It’s all about mixing nature, fun, and a sprinkle of magic!

Children are also invited to dress up on Halloween (Oct 31) as their favourite magical or spooky character to be in with a chance to win a fang-tastic prize on WWT Washington’s Facebook page. Don’t forget to grab a free Spells and Potions logbook, available on arrival. Packed with all the activities on offer, plus a special spot to jot down spooky spells and mystical potions. Gill Pipes, Centre Manager at WWT Washington, said: “We know that our wetlands are an enchanting place to explore whatever the season but this October half term we have really focussed on activities that show off just how spellbinding wetland nature can be.

Autumn is a great season to be out in nature, everything is transformed into a sensory melting pot of colours, sights and sounds and we can’t wait to see families exploring and being bewitched by it all.

Our wetlands offer the perfect backdrop for family-friendly autumn adventures with fun activities that complement the fantastic seasonal wildlife perfectly.”

“All activities are included in the WWT Washington admission ticket (unless stated) or are free to WWT members. Half term activities and the self-led trail are available from Saturday 26 Oct to Sunday 3 Nov. More information and a full what’s on calendar can be found at https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/washington/whats-on/events
