Saturday 13 May, 7 – 9pm at Hereford Cathedral. Free event!
This year, on Saturday 13 May, many Church of England cathedrals will open their doors after hours and welcome in people of all ages to experience and explore their beautiful buildings and to enjoy a taste of cathedral life. Come along and discover what Hereford Cathedral has to offer including free entry to the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library for one night only.
Hereford’s Cathedrals at Night will include:
Visit the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, which will have free entry for one night only!
Enjoy a special evening tour led by our experienced Cathedral Guides.
Hear the famous Father Willis organ in action at 8.30pm, performed by Assistant Director of Music, Peter Dyke!
Big Lego build – help us build a huge cathedral out of Lego.
Meet the Library and Archives team and try your skills with our Adana Printing Press, with a print to take home.
Take some time out to reflect in the quiet and calm of our small chapels and the beautiful crypt which will be candlelit for the evening.
The cathedral team will be there to share all you need to know about upcoming events, activities and tours available across the year.
Our cafe and shop will be open late for the evening, serving hot drinks and tasty treats, and selling a range of gift items.
This event is free – no booking is required.
