Join Mr Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger at RHS Bridgewater in 2026. Starting in February half term, and lasting all year, enjoy discovering an interactive garden trail and activities based on the well-loved book The Wind in the Willows.
With a brand-new garden trail, storytime, craft and interactive planting sessions, there’s plenty to keep all the family busy this holiday.
The Wind in the Willows: A Garden Adventure
Daily, from Saturday 14 February until the end of 2026
Starting on Saturday 14 February and continuing all year, explore The Wind in the Willows: A Garden Adventure trail following Mole, Ratty and Badger and chase after naughty Mr Toad as you go on an expedition across the garden. Journey through the garden alongside Mole and Ratty while encountering various characters and learning about nature, loyalty and friendship. You could even enjoy a picnic like Ratty and Mole.
In collaboration with Farshore, part of HarperCollins Publishers, we’re bringing Kenneth Grahame’s timeless story and E. H. Shepard’s charming illustrations to life in our gardens.
Craft activities
Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 February
Drop-in 10am – 2.30pm
Join us in the Learning Studios for drop-in craft activities inspired by The Wind in the Willows, from making your own lolly stick character puppet to decorating a bookmark.
Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult). There may be a queue at busy times.
Planting activity
Thursday 19 February
Drop-in between 10am – 2.30pm, Learning Studio
Join us in the Learning Studios for a drop-in planting activity inspired by The Wind in the Willows where you can plant your own ingredients for pea and watercress soup.
Suitable for all ages (must be accompanied by an adult). There may be a queue at busy times.
