Here’s what the manage Jade Guppy has to say
Q: How satisfied are you with the club’s recruitment this summer? Did you secure the players you were targeting?
I’m really pleased with our recruitment this summer. As it’s my first pre-season in charge it was important to bring in players who not only fit our style of play but also align with the values and culture we’re building here. We focused on key areas we needed to strengthen and I’m confident we’ve brought in quality additions. We identified some players towards the end of last season who we’ve managed to get over the line early and then we had a fantastic turnout at our trials. It didn’t take much convincing, I think players can see what we’re trying to build here and they’re excited to be a part of it. I’m satisfied with the business we’ve done and I’m looking forward to seeing what this group can achieve.
Q: What were the main priorities when identifying new signings for the club this summer?
Our focus was on adding technical quality, leadership and versatility. We wanted players who are comfortable in possession, tactically intelligent and hungry to progress. But beyond ability, character was key with players who are committed, competitive and understand what it means to wear the Redditch United badge. We also prioritised depth in key areas to make us more resilient across the season.
Q: Are you confident that this squad now has the depth and balance needed for the season ahead?
Yes, I believe we’ve built a well-rounded squad with a good blend of youth, experience and positional flexibility. We’ve got competition across the pitch which is healthy and keeps standards high. Of course like any team, we’ll keep evaluating and adapting as the season progresses but I feel confident that we’ve got the right foundation in place.
Q: What are your main goals for Redditch United this season?
The focus this season is on progression both as a team and as individuals. We want to play with identity, consistency and compete in every game. Of course we want to be pushing for promotion but success for me also means creating an environment where players develop and enjoy their football. We want to build something sustainable and competitive for the long term.
Q: How important will home form at the Valley Stadium be to achieving your goals this year?
Home form will be really important for us this season. The Valley Stadium is where we train, prepare, and feel most comfortable, so it’s vital that we make the most of that familiarity. It’s about setting high standards for ourselves every time we play there and using the environment to build momentum. Whether it’s a big crowd or a smaller one, the support we do have matters and we want to give our fans something to be proud of every time we step onto our pitch.
Q: What message do you have for the fans as the new season approaches?
Firstly, thank you for your continued support  it means a lot to the players and the staff. This is a fresh chapter for Redditch United Women and we’re building something that we hope you’ll be proud of. Expect a team that gives everything, plays with purpose and fights for the badge. I’m confident we can create an entertaining match day experience that the community of Redditch will buy into.
Q: What lessons from last season are you bringing into this campaign?
One of the key takeaways from last season was the lack of consistency in our performances and that was influenced by a combination of injuries, player absences and at times a dip in standards. If we’re serious about challenging for the title we have to raise our level week in, week out regardless of the opposition or circumstances.
We’ve also recognised the importance of having the right people in the squad, not just in terms of ability but attitude. Building a positive culture is essential. With a larger squad this season there will naturally be competition for places and it’s important that every player understands their role and stays ready. Success will come from everyone buying in and contributing, whether they’re starting or supporting from the bench.
Q: What defines this Redditch United side under your management?
We’re building a side that’s fearless, hard-working and tactically intelligent. We want to control games, be brave on the ball and structured off it. But more than that, we want to represent the club with pride and bring a real sense of identity to the way we play. Unity, ambition and accountability that’s what this team will stand for.
