Spring has sprung and Easter is just around the corner! Whether you live here or you’re coming up over the holiday season, we have you sorted for fun-filled family activities, exciting egg hunts and seasonal celebrations.

  • Beamish Museum Easter Family Activities. Saturday 12th to Sunday 27th April. Discover how Easter was celebrated in the 1820s, early 1900s, 1940s and 1950s with a range of egg-citing activities. Activities are included in admission – pay once and visit free for a year. www.beamish.org.uk
  • Easter Extravaganza at Whitehouse Farm Centre. Friday 18th of April to Monday 21st of April. Head down to Whitehouse Farm this Easter for action-packed family fun. Activities include: Easter egg hunt, Appearances from the Easter Bunny, Magic Shows, Character Meet and greets, Small animal handling, Bottle feeding and Lamb Cuddling, Groom a goat, Bird of Prey meet and greet, Meerkat talk and feed, Critter encounter, Tractor rides. www.whitehousefarmcentre.co.uk
  • Ashington Town Council Bunny Hop Easter Egg Hunt. Between Saturday 12th – Friday 25th April visit local shops and collect stickers to receive a free Easter Egg. www.ashingtontowncouncil.gov.uk
  • Adventure Valley, Durham – Easter Egg-Stravaganza. Saturday 12th – 27th April. Join the ‘Egg-cellent’ Bunny Adventure to earn a chocolate treat and meet the Easter Bunny!   • Newbiggin RNLI Easter Fayre. Sunday 13th April, 10.30am-3.00pm. Visit their Facebook page here for all the latest information. 
  • Easter Egg Hunt at Wallington. Monday 14th – Tuesday 22nd April. 10am to 4pm. £3.50 per trail, includes a trail sheet, bunny ears and chocolate egg. Normal admission charges apply. www.nationaltrust.org.uk

  • Spanish City Easter Funfair. The annual Easter Funfair returns with all your favourite rides + food, drink and more. Friday 18th – Thursday 24th April. www.visitnorthtyneside.com
  • Doggy Wagtastic Easter Meet-Up. Friday 18th April. 9.30am-11.30am. Weetslade Country Park. Free event. Treat for your dog! www.nwt.org.uk
  • Down At The Farm – Animal Fun Farm. Houghton Le Spring. Easter and springtime fun on the farm! Baby animals, tractor and barrel rides, face painting + café and plenty of play areas makes for an enjoyable day out for all the family. Book your tickets via www.downatthefarm.co.uk.
  • Derwent Manor Boutique Hotel – Easter Egg Hunt & Children’s Party. Friday 18th April, 12pm. Get ready for an afternoon of activities and adventure.   • Newcastle Cathedral – The Easter Liturgy. 19th April 7pm-8.30pm.Come to the first service of Easter! We’ll begin in the dark, waiting for the light of Jesus’ resurrection. The Paschal Candle will be lit, symbolising Christ as the Light of the World. As the evening progresses, beautiful music from the Cathedral Choir will fill this powerful service of hope. All services are free to attend, with no pre-booking required.” This service will also be live-streamed via our YouTube channel.
