Ellie Kelham has become the new owner and principal of her dance school Elite Performing Arts in Bromsgrove

Ellie Kelham has become the new owner and principal of her dance school Elite Performing Arts in Bromsgrove. Ellie has danced at Elite for 18 years. Starting out in Ballet lessons at the age of four, Ellie worked through her grades and then started other classes including Jazz, Contemporary and Tap. When Ellie was 11 she started volunteering in the younger classes; this progressed through the years and she then became a teaching assistant in more classes. Following on from her A-levels, where she achieved an A* in Dance, she undertook a two year course with The Royal Academy of Dance to become an RAD qualified teacher in Ballet. During these two years she continued to teach and was delighted, when a year later, the opportunity arose to take over the school as Principal.

Ellie stated “I am so excited to be taking on Elite as dancing has been part of me since I was four. My previous dance teachers showed me the joy and thrill of dance, and I will never forget how they nurtured me through the years. I have so much to thank Stephanie for, who has run Elite for the past 13 years. She has mentored me, nurtured me and let me be a part of the school for the past few years. It was our last dance show together in July 2024 and it was such an emotional time as it really was the end of an era. But I am looking forward to continuing the legacy that has been left to me as we work towards our Ballet exams and our annual show at the Redditch Palace Theatre in July.”

Elite is based at Bromsgrove Sports and Leisure Centre (formally The Dolphin Centre) on School Drive in Bromsgrove. Classes run Tuesday to Friday after school and Saturday mornings.
