Volunteering in Costa Rica

Hi, my name is Emma, I’m 15 and I live in Worcestershire. I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to volunteer with my school, in the beautiful country of Costa Rica, in 2025.

This trip is being run by the Global Action organisation. This amazing organisation helps young people like myself to learn about global issues in the humanities and sciences.

We spend two nights in an eco-tourism resort in the Arenal Volcano National Park. Here, we learn all about Renewable Energy and Sustainable Tourism.

We will go on to do four days of hands-on learning about environmental preservation through a blue flag beach programme focusing on plastic waste.

Costa Rica is one of the Worlds most diverse and eco-friendly countries. This opportunity would help me to get me involved with sea turtle conservation.I will also be learning how to protect endangered species, and how to sustain these majestic ecosystems.

I am currently fundraising to help cover the cost of Volunteering in Costa Rica. These fundraising activities include a fete stall at Lyppard’s summer fete on July 14th.A small group and I will be doing glitter tattoos and running competitions/raffles.

People can also support my fundraising efforts while shopping. While purchasing items across 7,500 different brands, a profit of those totals travel into my easy fundraising account- adding to my cause, because every penny counts!
