The Chocolate Shed - chocolate making parties
We offer a range of options for children's chocolate making workshops from children's parties to chocolate making experiences for individual or small groups of children. All of our workshops are run by our trained chocolatiers who are happy to create a great (and sticky) experience for your budding chocolatiers.
Our chocolate making parties are suitable for children of all ages from 7 upwards (younger siblings from age 3 may attend with a dedicated adult to assist them with activities). Toys for younger children are available on request.
'€‹Our parties consist of one of two chocolate making activities and a chocolate flavour guessing game.
For younger children (9 and younger)
Mini slab bars - 4 x 40g chocolate slab bars cocoa butter painted, poured into moulds and decorated with a variety of specialist chocolate inclusions
Filled chocolates and fudge - chocolate truffle mixed to be weighed out and hand rolled by participants then rolled in chocolate and decorated
Chocolate teddy bear lollipops - 4 x chocolate teddy bears to be cocoa butter painted, chocolate to be poured into lollipop moulds and decorated with a variety of specialist chocolate inclusions
Chocolate pizzas - chocolate to be poured onto paper plate 'pizza moulds' and decorated with different 'ingredients' - grated white chocolate for cheese etc - the imagination of the children is the limit with this one.
Older children and young people (10 years old and above)
All of the above plus hollow egg figures and / or chocolate frogs to be cocoa butter painted, poured in to moulds in layers of molten chocolate to create strong, hollow shell. Both eggs and frogs can be filled with chocolate inclusions if desired.
The price of our workshops include provision of aprons for children (and hairnets for workshops taking place in our own chocolate making kitchen), all ingredients and tuition and specialist chocolate packaging for children to take home their creations with them. We also have a display of our chocolates available for guests and their parents to view as examples during the workshop and, if desired, after the workshop is completed. We provide paper party bags for children to take their creations home with them. You are welcome to add cake and other items to these bags if you wish.
For children who have finished their making activity quickly or for children who are between activities and waiting for their friends to catch up a chocolate based colouring activity will be available during the workshop which our guests are welcome to come and go from as they please.
All of our workshops for children are based on using mostly milk chocolate (this is generally the most popular flavour for children and young people) although other options are available. Please advise when booking of any relevant food intolerances or allergies so that we can ensure that appropriate provision is made.
Our charges for the workshop are based on the number of activities and the number of guests that will be attending, and whether guests would like simple buffet-style party food to be provided.
