Halloween and Half Term Family Fun in Altrincham

Join Sam Pig and the Scarecrow for family fun in Altrincham this October Half-Term

This October half-term Altrincham BID, who produce Visit Altrincham, has organised a packed week of fantastic family half-term fun.

There will be a FREE family town trail sponsored by Stamford Quarter, children’s Spooky Silent Discos with ‘Our Kids Social’, a Family Ghost Tour with Jonathan Schofield and scarecrow craft with Inch Arts.

The FREE family town trail

Inspired by a story, Sam Pig and the Scarecrow, written by Alison Uttley who lived on The Downs in Altrincham. The trail takes place from Tuesday 25th – Sunday 30th October (10:00-16:00). Pick up a trail sheet from the ‘Not So Secret Garden’ in the Stamford Quarter, Altrincham (WA14 1RH).

Craft Workshops

You can make your own scarecrow or 3D crow puppet in craft workshops with Inch Arts. The workshops are on Tuesday 25th & Thursday 27th October, tickets are £5 per person and can be booked via Eventbrite.co.uk.

Spooky Silent Discos

There will also be fancy dress Spooky Silent Discos, where scarecrows are welcome, on Friday 28th October at the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel, Church St, Altrincham (WA14 4DP). There are two sessions taking place at 11:30-12:30 and 13:00-14:00, tickets are just £4.95 per person and include the disco and themed games with prizes. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.co.uk.

Family Ghost Tour

If you would like to find out about Altrincham’s spooky past, join award-winning tour guide Jonathan Schofield for a Family Ghost Tour on Saturday 29th October (18:00-19:00). Jonathan will lead you through the streets of Altrincham uncovering the ghostly stories and horrible haunts from bygone days. This spectacularly spooky tour is suitable for the whole family but recommended for children aged 10+. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and cost £5 per person.
