The Ghost Tour, Hereford

The Ghost Tour of Hereford is a fun retelling of stories associated with Hereford city and the county of Herefordshire, offering the perfect evening out around this historic city.

This light-hearted tour will certainly appeal to any local history enthusiasts and tourist groups keen to know more about the darker side of Hereford’s history. The tour is also suitable for couples seeking a different date night, and families with older children.

Tours for much younger children are ‘special events’ which we announce on our Facebook page.

Our costumed guide will share with you some spooky and fascinating tales, such as The Orphan of the Oxford Arms, The Cannibal of St Peter’s Church, The Execution Green, The Pub With No Rest, The Butcher’s Apprentice, and Spirits of Conningsby Hospital.

Summer tours last 90 minutes, and cover a flat walking route, suitable for most ages* and abilities. The tours are designed to be as accessible as possible, but if you have any additional requirements, please let us know when making your booking – we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.

Tours are held on Friday and Saturday evenings, starting at the Bull Statue in High Town, by the Black & White House Museum (HR1 2AA)

Do you allow dogs? Yes, but for insurance reasons, your dogs are 100% your responsibility.
Are under-18s allowed? *Yes, but parents /guardians need to be aware that there is mention of murder, executions and a little bit of naughtiness. *
Are there tours for younger children? We occasionally hold one-off events aimed at families with younger children.  We announce these on our Facebook Page.
How long are the tours? Tours are approximately 90 minutes during the summer months, an hour in the winter months (hence tour prices are lower in winter).
Are photos allowed? Yes, but if you upload them please tag the page.
How much are the tours? The 90-minute summer tours are £10 for adults, £5 for under 13s.
Do you do private tours? Yes, for a minimum of 6 people per tour.
