Tell us about the business
LB Dance is a freelance dance business and it was created to lead with care, intention, and a love for movement. Through work in nurseries, primary schools, care homes, and beyond, I create joyful, structured spaces where people build confidence, express themselves, and feel supported, empowered, and inspired to grow through dance.
What’s your role there, and what does a typical day look like?
I am the founder of LB Dance and a typical weekday consists of morning classes at multiple nurseries for children 1-4 years, then a care home class of chair based exercises and dance. A couple of hours of admin and content creating before planning classes and getting ready to teach class of various dance styles at a dance studio for the evening.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Watching the smiles on peoples faces as we dance, giggle and wiggle our way through a class.
What’s one thing people might not know about the business?
Once a dancer, always a dancer! I still love to go to dance classes as a student to keep enjoying various dance styles and learning from different inspiring dance educators.
What’s coming up that you’re excited about?
We have started our first holiday clubs this year and are offering to host children’s birthday parties which have been a hit so far!
Where’s your favourite place to chill out in the area when you’re not working?
I love to go and have a drink and a bite to eat at Lugo Cafe in Altrincham, although I do love to go there with the laptop to do some admin too.
Any other fun facts you’d like to share or comments to add?
As I’ve been promoting my business in Altrincham, it has been lovely to have such amazing support from local businesses such as Mabel’s Cafe and Soccerwise Sports Coaching. I’m grateful for such great business owners supporting a little business like mine.
