There are two play areas, one by the MAC and the other by the Pershore Road car park, and they’re fully equipped with slides, swings and all you’d expect from a children’s outdoor play area.

Lots of shows on at MAC plus cafe and toilets.

There’s simply so much on at MAC Birmingham, you’ll be spoilt for choice. From breaking up your day in the park with a feature film, to learning a fun new skill like making jewellery or learning the piano, MAC has something for everyone.

MAC Birmingham is dedicated to bringing the arts into the community, with shows and exhibitions to inspire and courses and workshops that open up the artistic world to enquiring minds - young and old alike!

Originally donated to the citizens of Birmingham by Louisa Ryland, Cannon Hill Park was opened to visitors in 1873, and was designed by TJ Gibson, who also designed Battersea Park in London.

Louisa Ryland hoped the park would help the people of Birmingham enjoy their recreation and keep healthy, a legacy that is still going strong.

The park itself includes 80 acres of formal parks, as well as 120 acres of conservation and woodland. It’s a brilliant place to enjoy a walk, run or cycle, or just to sit and relax. There’s also a natural amphitheatre with a beautiful listed Bandstand at its centre.

When you want a place to come and entertain the kids, get them active and outdoors for free, our brilliant play areas are the first place to come.
