Leslie’s Care Packages – Supporting Local People in Need

Leslie’s Care Packages is a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting people facing hardship by providing food, toiletries, household items and other everyday essentials. Our mission is to ensure that vulnerable members of the community receive practical support when they need it most. We work with homeless individuals, elderly residents, vulnerable families, people experiencing financial difficulties and anyone facing challenging circumstances that impact their ability to access basic necessities.

Founded on the belief that no one should have to struggle alone, Leslie’s Care Packages was established to provide immediate assistance while promoting compassion and community spirit. Every care package is thoughtfully prepared and tailored to meet essential needs, helping to ease the pressures faced by those who may be struggling with poverty, isolation, ill health or unexpected life events. Our aim is not only to provide practical support but also to offer reassurance, encouragement and hope.

The organisation relies on the generosity of donors, volunteers and community partners who share our commitment to helping others. Through fundraising activities, donation drives, and local partnerships, we are able to source and distribute essential items to people in need. By working closely with community groups, support services and local organisations, we identify those who are most vulnerable and ensure that assistance reaches them efficiently and respectfully.

In addition to providing care packages, we strive to make a positive impact on the wellbeing of individuals and families. Many of the people we support experience loneliness and social isolation, particularly older people and those without stable accommodation. By maintaining a compassionate and person-centered approach, we help people feel valued, respected, and connected to their community.

As Founder and Volunteer, I oversee the day-to-day operation of Leslie’s Care Packages. My responsibilities include coordinating support activities, organising fundraising events, building relationships with partners and supporters, managing donations and helping to secure funding that enables the organisation to continue its work. I also remain actively involved in preparing and distributing care packages and engaging directly with those we support.
