Tell us about the business
MogeMoge Art Education is a creative art studio based in Altrincham, offering art classes for children and young people aged 5–16. We run weekly after-school classes, holiday camps and creative workshops, covering everything from drawing and painting to anime illustration, mixed media and digital art.
Art has always been at the heart of my life. Before moving to the UK, I spent many years studying and working in art and education. When I settled here, I wanted to create a place where children from all backgrounds could discover the joy of making art.
For me, art isn’t simply about learning how to draw well. It’s about helping children observe the world differently, express their ideas, solve problems creatively and develop confidence in themselves. Every child has their own imagination, and our job is to help it grow.
What’s your role there, and what does a typical day look like?
Running an art studio means no two days are ever the same!
I’m an art teacher, curriculum designer, business owner and event organiser – and occasionally even the person assembling furniture or decorating the studio before a new term begins.
My mornings are usually spent planning lessons, creating sample artworks, preparing materials and thinking about new projects that will inspire the children. I also enjoy chatting with parents and planning future workshops or community events.
By the afternoon, the studio is full of laughter and creativity. Children arrive after school full of stories about their day, then quickly become absorbed in painting, drawing and experimenting with different materials.
One of the most important parts of my role isn’t teaching children what to draw – it’s helping them discover how to think creatively, trust their own ideas and enjoy the process of creating.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Watching children become more confident.
Some children walk into their first class quietly saying, “I’m not very good at drawing.”
A few weeks later, they’re proudly holding up their artwork and excitedly explaining every detail they’ve created.
Moments like that never stop making me smile.
I’ve always believed that every child blooms in their own time. That’s why we keep our classes small, giving every child the attention, encouragement and guidance they need to develop at their own pace.
Seeing children leave the studio feeling proud of themselves is the greatest reward I could ask for.
What’s one thing people might not know about the business?
People are often surprised to learn that the name MogeMoge was inspired by imagination.
“Moge Moge” sounds a little like a magical spell, and that’s exactly what creativity feels like to me. Every child has unique artistic potential waiting to be discovered. Sometimes they simply need someone to believe in them.
Our chameleon logo represents creativity, adaptability and individuality because no two children learn in exactly the same way. Our bright lime green reflects energy, growth and endless possibilities.

What’s coming up that you’re excited about?
This autumn marks an exciting new chapter for MogeMoge Art Education.
For the past few years, we’ve been a little hidden gem tucked away in the corner of Goose Green, Altrincham. Many families have discovered us through word of mouth, but we’re now ready to open our doors to even more children who love to create.
As our MogeMoge family continues to grow, we’re expanding our studio space to welcome more young artists and create an even brighter, more inspiring environment where children can learn, explore and build confidence through art.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming both new and returning students for another inspiring term, with fresh projects, seasonal workshops and plenty of creative adventures ahead.
Beyond the studio, we’re excited to continue working with local schools and community organisations, creating more opportunities for children and families to experience art beyond the classroom and helping creativity become a bigger part of everyday community life.
Where’s your favourite place to chill out in the area when you’re not working?
I love spending time around Altrincham Market and Goose Green.
Whether it’s enjoying a good coffee, browsing independent shops or simply watching people enjoy the town, it’s somewhere that always inspires me.
Many of my ideas for new art projects actually begin there – with a notebook, a coffee and a little people-watching!

One thing I’d love every parent to know is this:
Every child can learn to draw.
Art isn’t about being naturally talented—it’s about curiosity, confidence and having the freedom to explore.
At MogeMoge, we never compare children with one another. We celebrate every child’s own journey, because every piece of artwork tells a different story.
If a child leaves our studio believing in themselves a little more than when they arrived, then we’ve achieved something truly meaningful.
After all, we’re not just teaching children how to make art – we’re helping them discover who they are.
