Join us at The New Art Gallery Walsall for an exciting, fun packed Summer of family workshops and community events

SUMMER DROP-IN

Tue 21 July – Sun 30 August 2026, 10am-4pm. Butterflies, Bugs & Moths, New Art Gallery Walsall. Drop-in throughout the summer holidays and get creative making a colourful bug using simple paper craft. Free.

WEDNESDAYS FOR ALL

Wednesdays from 22 July onwards, 11am-3pm. Wednesdays For All at The New Art Gallery Walsall. Drop-in. Free. 22 July – Clay Hippos. 29 July – Animal Headbands. 5 Aug – Mosaic Medallions. 12 Aug – Fish Masks. 19 August – Holiday Zines.

YOUNG MASTERS WORKSHOPS

Thurs 23 July, 6 August, 20 August. New Art Gallery Walsall, Young Masters Workshops. Painting Still Life in Acrylics (23 July).  Handy Plaster Casts (6 August). Colourful Coin Pouch (20 August). Ages 6+. £4.50. Advance booking essential.

BABY & ME

10.30am-12noon & 12.30-2pm. Upcoming dates: Wednesday 12 August 2026. Suitable for 0-24 months. Multi-sensory sessions for parents, carers and their babies. £3.50 per child, places are limited, booking essential. Book at Reception or call 01922 654400.

SUNDAY ART CLUB

Our weekly art club for children and young people. Meet artists and creatives and learn to paint, print, sculpt, craft and more!

We welcome donations from families to allow us to offer these weekly artist-led workshops free of charge throughout the year.

Sunday 19 July: Draw with Shadows – Play with light, shadows and hand gestures to create striking silhouettes.

Sunday 26 July: Square Features – Draw 9 facial features to create a single artwork.

Sunday 2 August: Scrap Sketchbooks – Turn a collection of scrap papers into a usable sketchbook.

Sunday 9 August: Floral Sun Catchers – Make and take home a colourful summer sun catcher using pva glue.

Sunday 16 August: Saltdough Creations (Allergens: Contains wheat) – Roll, plait and make squashy shapes with traditional salt dough.

Sunday 23 August: Paper People – Collage and colour a whole outfit for a paper doll.

Sunday 30 August: Reverse Drawing – Create bold still lifes using black paper and white drawing materials.
