Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th, Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th February & Saturday 1st March

Step into a world of mystery and enchantment with our Mermaid Days! On select days during half term, we’re welcoming mystical mermaids to Tynemouth Aquarium, and they’re ready to share their underwater tales with you. Meet our enchanting mermaid characters who will greet you throughout the aquarium and transport you into their magical underwater world. They’ll be telling captivating stories of the ocean and all the wondrous creatures that call it home—perfect for young imaginations.

But that’s not all! Take part in our Quiz Trail as you explore the aquarium. Follow the clues, answer the questions, and uncover ocean secrets hidden among the tanks. You’ll be amazed at what you can discover as you travel through this aquatic adventure.

 Pirate Days

Whether you’re a pirate in the making or a seasoned swashbuckler, our Pirate Days will give you the chance to live out your pirate fantasies. Meet our lively pirate characters, who will be roaming the aquarium and adding some extra flair to your adventure. They’ll be sharing tales of treasure hunts, secret islands, and high-seas excitement.

Make sure you don’t miss out on our Talk Like A Pirate Workshop—perfect for anyone who wants to speak in true pirate style! Whether you’re a young buccaneer or an old sea dog, you’ll learn how to talk like a pirate with all the key phrases and lingo. It’s a fun and interactive way to dive deeper into the world of pirates.
