Classes

Acrobatic Arts is a combination of dance and gymnastics. The classes look at strength, flexibility, limbering, tumbling and balance and how these can be incorporated into a dance routine. Children gain knowledge and education that enables them to perform skills to a high level.

Clubbercise

Clubbercise is a dance fitness class for over 16’s. It incorporates a night club atmosphere with bright disco lights, loud music and colour changing glowsticks. The class is continual with occasional short breaks in-between the routines to music from the 90’s to present day.

Info about Lauren

Lauren has trained in many areas of dance since the age of 3 1/2, alongside teaching, at Lucy Jane’s School of Dance, since the age of 13. Lauren has also danced at the Birmingham Royal Ballet Studios; Elmhurst School of Dance; been in The Sleeping Beauty production with Midland Theatre Ballet; and has always been involved in numerous on-stage shows, cabarets and other public events.

Lauren recently graduated from her degree in Physical Education and Dance (BA with Honours) at the University of Worcester. She now works fulltime, during the day, at Solihull Academy helping children with both SEN and EBD backgrounds.

As well as her training, Lauren has also provided the community with opportunities to help raise money for charity through her Clubbercise classes, and has also helped with conducting the warm-ups for the St. Richard’s Hospice’s regular events and challenges.

Lauren has a number of qualifications including a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching, Development and Fitness (incorporating dance and gymnastics); Level 5 qualifications in Sports and Dance Technique and Choreography (including an A grade in teaching gymnastics, as well as A and B grades in practical dance); and has always attained high grades in her IDTA examinations in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle and Riverdance. She still continues her studies at Lucy Jane’s School of Dance, as well taking her own exams.

Lauren is a fully certified Clubbercise instructor and is also a qualified Acrobatic Arts Module 1 dance teacher. She holds an up to date DBS, is fully insured and has an up-to-date emergency first-aid certificate.
