It’s party time at Preston Park Museum this summer. We can’t wait to continue celebrating our special 70th birthday with you.
We’re partying all summer long and everyone is invited so come and join us for arts and crafts, party games, stories, teddy’s bear picnic and party entertainers for non-stop family fun. While you’re here, explore our museum galleries and Victorian Street or discover the outdoors in our Walled Garden, orchard and Woodland Walk for the perfect, big party-themed day out.
Arty Monday
Every Monday during the summer you can get creative with our exciting family arts and crafts.
Storytelling Tuesday
Enjoy magical story adventures with our expert storytellers every Tuesday over the summer.

Saturday and Sunday Funday
Party entertainer Tom Rolfe will be bringing us a weekend of family entertainment with a magic show, Punch and Judy, circus skills and balloon modelling (5-6 Aug and 12-13 Aug, 11am-3pm)
Special event – Teddy bear’s picnic
Our popular teddy bear’s picnic is back! Bring your favourite teddy and a picnic to enjoy on Sunday 20 August for a ‘beary’ special day. There’ll be lots of fun activities to do with your furry friend including teddy bear crafts, a teddy bear hospital, storytelling, face painting and a bear hunt. Click here for more details.
Special event – Mexican celebration day
We’re bringing you all the Mexican festival vibes on Wednesday 9 August for one day only! Dancers and musicians from Billingham International Folklore Festival (BIFF) will be visiting the museum to join our Mexican celebrations. The Ballet La Grana dancers with their colourful costumes will come to life with live mariachi music every half hour to perform a 3-minute Day of the Dead dance. You can also get creative with an exciting Day of the Dead family craft and enjoy Mexican-inspired food demos from Barefoot Kitchen CIC.
