New events pop up all the time, so I’ll be adding to this list as I find out about them – keep checking back! If you’re hosting a pumpkin patch or Halloween event, big or small, or know of one I’ve missed, please get in touch at leicester@raring2go.co.uk and I’ll endeavour to add it to the list.

Halloween in Leicestershire means one thing: it’s pumpkin patch season. From sprawling farm trails with tractor rides and corn mazes, to cosy local patches perfect for little legs, there’s no shortage of ways to get your family into the spooky spirit this October. I’ve done the digging (sorry) to bring you the best pumpkin patches and Halloween events happening across the Leicester and surrounding villages. Perfect for choosing that all-important pumpkin, snapping some seasonal photos, and getting properly ready for spooky season!
I’ve tried to order these roughly geographically, starting in Leicester city centre and working outwards, so the closer to home, the higher up the list!
Gorse Hill City Farm’s Spooktacular Pumpkin Patch
17th-31st October 2026 | 10am-6pm daily
Brand new to Leicester this year, Gorse Hill City Farm is going all out for Halloween. Wander the pumpkin patch, brave the family-friendly spooky trail, and take on the creepy maze if you dare. There are real live dinosaurs courtesy of Alfie Exotics, farm animals to say hello to, and Appletons Fun Fair on site too. Food and refreshments are available, and usual farm entry applies.
Tickets: Adult £5.50, Child (2-16) £3.50, Infant (under 2) free, Carer £3.50 (proof required on arrival). Animal feed bags £2.50 each. Family Ticket (2 adults, 2 children, 2 animal feed bags) £21.00.

Leicester Monsters Returns!
22nd-31st October 2026 | Free
The monsters are back! After causing a monster-sized stir in 2023, Leicester’s favourite giant creatures are taking over the city centre once again for a free family trail. Keep your eyes peeled as giant installations pop up in unexpected places peering over rooftops, squeezing through windows and generally causing quirky chaos. Follow the trail through the city centre, meet every monster, and make a day (or several) of it right through half term and all the way to Halloween. Monster hunting works up an appetite too, Leicester Restaurant Week runs alongside the trail, with offers at cafés and restaurants across the city centre to fuel your adventure.

Monsters and Bats at Leicester Guildhall
Thursday 22nd October 2026 | 11am-3pm
A monster-sized day of Halloween fun at the famously haunted Leicester Guildhall. This October half term, bring your little monsters along to one of Leicester’s oldest and spookiest buildings for a day packed with creative crafts, Halloween activities and family fun. Create your own bat hat and Halloween window decoration, help bring the giant mega monster to life, and make a mini monster to take home as a souvenir. Dressing up is encouraged, so come as your favourite witch, wizard, ghost or creature of the night. Perfect for families with children of all ages.

The Pumpkin Patch at Wolvey
Every weekend in October | 10am-5pm, half term 10am-4pm
Given a massive refresh for 2026, with lots of new things to see and do alongside all the autumnal family fun you already know and love. Thousands of pumpkins across 30+ varieties, all grown right in the field – farm fresh doesn’t get much fresher. There are new displays and photo opportunities, new games and activities for the family, the return of Uncle Tom’s famous tractor and trailer rides, hot drinks and sweet treats, local food stalls throughout October, and a marquee to keep you dry on typical British autumn days. Dog friendly too. Tickets sell out fast, so worth booking ahead if you know you’re coming.
Entry: £6 per car, with £1 from every entry donated to the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.

Halloween Spooktacular & Pumpkin Patch at Windmill Farm Park
Weekends throughout October, plus daily 17th–31st October | 10am-4pm
Wickedly good fun for the whole family, with every ticket including: meeting the Wicked Characters, braving the newly designed Cobweb Maze, venturing into the Wicked Woods, a hayride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, the last tractor rides of the year (weather permitting), photo ops around the farm, animal activities, a Best Dressed Contest, traditional Fall Festival games, and both indoor and outdoor adventure play. Child tickets also come with the Pumpkin Package as standard and this includes a witch’s hat, magic scroll and “boo bucks,” a free homegrown medium pumpkin, a hands-on craft to take home, two Enchanting Trail prizes, a Potion Making Workshop and the Witches Hat Parade! Adults wanting the Pumpkin Package experience too can add it on separately. Key dates tend to sell out early.

Pumpkin Season at Broom Leys Farm
Weekends from 3rd-4th October, then every weekend through October, plus daily during Leicestershire half term | 10am-5pm
Pumpkin Season is back for 2026 at Broom Leys Farm, with family fun for all at affordable family prices. Every ticket includes entry into the event field, a tractor and trailer ride, access to the Maize Maze and petting farm, and plenty of fun photo opportunities with the latest Halloween animatronics from the USA alongside farm-themed props. The event field also features bouncy castles and farmyard animal rides and walks, with the option to pick your own pumpkins from the patch, or choose from the pre-picked display near the entrance. There’s also a fun fair and vendor stalls on site. Every ticket bought online comes with a free return ticket included.

The Halloween Farm at Cattows Farm
Saturday 26th September – Sunday 1st November 2026
One of Leicestershire’s biggest Halloween events, and it’s going even bigger for 2026. Brand new this year: the Great Halloween Harvest Ride, the Haunted Woodlands, Zombie World, and the Halloween Roller Disco. Alongside these, all the returning Halloween Farm favourites are back too – Trick or Treat Street, the Halloween Circus, the Halloween Funfair, the Lost World of the Dinosaurs, and traditional Halloween activities, plus plenty more. Pre-sale tickets go on sale 7am Thursday 3rd September for anyone who’s signed up in advance, with general access pre-sale following 7am Friday 4th September.

PYO Pumpkins at Poplars Farm
Weekends from 3rd–4th October, plus selected dates through October half term, right up until Halloween
All the usual favourites are back, alongside some lovely new additions: a tractor and trailer ride, a sunflower and maize wander, mini music makers, a digger sand pit, a pedal tractor arena, pumpkin bowling, a bale pyramid, and a spooky inflatable walk-through. Pick your own pumpkins from the 22-acre pumpkin patch, weighed and paid for by the kilo at the weigh stations. There’s a licensed bar for hot and cold drinks, pop-up food vendors for something to eat, and ample free parking.
Tickets: £4.19 per person (including booking fee), under 2s free. Ticket prices have been frozen at last year’s rate, and Saver Tickets are available on selected days at half price (see booking link for details).

Family Scream Park at Twinlakes
3rd-4th October, 10th-11th October, and 16th October – 1st November 2026
Twinlakes’ award-winning Family Scream Park returns with loads of freaky family fun. Step inside Farmer Phil’s pumpkin display for a free PYO pumpkin to decorate or carve, and meet friendly Halloween host Marty the Monster for photos. There’s also the “Mummify Your Mummy” competition daily from 18th October to 2nd November, and a brand-new Family Rave running 20th-31st October with a resident DJ, Halloween activities and competitions. As an optional add-on, visit Fruity the Witch at her Trick and Treat Wagon for prizes, bubbling cauldrons and magical potions (£4.25 per child).

Oscar’s Pumpkin Patch & Spooky Maize Maze
Every Saturday & Sunday in October, plus daily during half term (18th-31st October, exc. Mondays) | 10am-4pm
Oscar’s Pumpkin Patch has over 12,000 pumpkins and around 20 varieties to choose from! Pumpkins are priced by size, from £2 for the smallest up to £10 for the largest, with a handy wooden board of labelled holes to help you work out the size (and price) of your pick. Alongside the PYO patch, brave the Spooky Maize Maze if you dare, wandering through towering stalks, creepy corners and cobwebbed paths to find your way out.

PumpkinFest at Manor Farm Park & Woodlands
17th-31st October 2026 | 10am-5pm
An action-packed autumn day out with pumpkins and magical mischief at its heart. Step into the undercover pumpkin patch and be handed your very own perfect pumpkin – no picking required, rain or shine. Then test your creativity in the pumpkin carving championship, guess how many pumpkins were grown on the farm this year, and take aim at the Pumpkin Cannon. There’s also the School of Wizardry & Witchcraft in the woodlands, plus the rest of the farm to explore: indoor play centre, the Dinosaur Roar! Discovery Trail, animal activities and falconry displays. A free pumpkin is included for every paying child, and Halloween fun runs daily from 11am-4pm. Just over the Leicestershire border near East Leake.

Belvoir’s Enchanted Halloween Trail
October half term | Leicestershire/Lincolnshire border
A pesky witch has cursed Belvoir, can your family break the spell? This year’s trail sends Curse Breakers on a three-part mission: hunt down hidden spell ingredients across the enchanted Adventure Playground, track down the password animal among Stuart’s cursed friends in the Animal Park, then brew the counter-curse at the cauldron in the Retail Village before midnight. Every Curse Breaker who completes the mission earns a treat and the title of official Curse Breaker.
There are two ways to take part. The Gardens & Playground ticket gives you a full outdoor day that includes the formal gardens and grounds, the Adventure Playground, the Halloween trail and map, and Animal Park entry at no extra cost, with Halloween crafts available to add on for £4.50. Alternatively, Halloween Crafts can be booked as a standalone session at the Retail Village for £4.50 per craft, with no Gardens ticket or entry fee required, open to everyone, and you take your creation home!

Room on the Broom Corn Maze at Twycross Zoo
3rd October – 1st November 2026
An all-new adventure lands at Twycross Zoo this October! Wind your way through the Room on the Broom themed corn maze, spot familiar characters along the route, and see if you can find the Witch. Collect sweet treats as you go, and stop for a broomstick photo-op, perfect for some Instagram-worthy moments. To take part, book your zoo ticket (or return visit), then add an exclusive Room on the Broom tote bag for £5 per child to unlock entry to the maze.

Halloween Forest Light Walk at Conkers
Wednesday 28th – Saturday 31st October | Doors 5pm, disco 5.30-9.30pm
A spooktacular Halloween evening filled with thrilling activities and eerie decorations. Start with a ride on the ghost train, then explore a forest light walk through the haunted woods. Expect a few surprises along the way, before catching the train back for a 4D cinema showing (join Sonic and Chip as they shelter from a storm in a creepy old mansion, do you dare watch?), indoor play and spooky mask-making crafts with the Rangers. There’s also a fang-tastic disco with prizes for best dressed, and food and drink available at the Explorers Rest Restaurant. Free parking on site.

Pumpkin Picking at Malt Kiln Farm Shop
Selected dates, 3rd-31st October 2026
Tens of thousands of pumpkins, gourds and squash to choose from, with over 30 varieties and plenty of photo opportunities! Pick your own straight from the vine, then have it weighed and priced by the kilo. There’s a farm shop, café, milkshake station and a wash station for muddy boots and pumpkins on site. Special guests The Alpaca Pals visit on Thursday 29th October for walks and feeds (weather permitting, no booking needed). Worth noting this one’s a little further afield, on the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border near Rugby. Booking opens Sunday 6th September at 5pm!
Entry: £6 per car (up to 5 people; extra people £1.20 each at the gate). Booking recommended, though walk-ins are allowed if slots are available.

The Pumpkin Patch Festival at West Lodge Farm Park
10th-31st October 2026
Two ways to enjoy it this year. The daytime Pumpkin Festival & Halloween Farm Fun (9.30am-5pm, patch open 10am-4pm) is a spooktacular day packed with fun, frights and family adventure – thousands of pumpkins to choose from, carving barns, wand making, ghost stories, spooky photo opportunities, and the infamous Halloween Tractor Ride (bookable on the day). Or opt for the Friday Night Pumpkin Patch (3pm-7pm, selected Fridays), a late-night pumpkin picking session with carving barn, free barrel rides, free adventure golf, indoor and outdoor play, small animal petting, and lit-up spooky photo opportunities. Worth noting this one’s a little further afield, on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire border. (Pumpkins aren’t included in the entry ticket – these are available to buy separately.)

Halloween isn’t only for the little ones – here’s a couple to book once the babysitter’s confirmed.
A Halloween Double Bill at Leicester Guildhall
Friday 30th October 2026
Make a full night of it at Leicester Guildhall’s Great Hall – a building with a genuinely haunted reputation of its own, and the perfect atmospheric backdrop for a Halloween double bill. First up, The Lost Boys (doors 5.30pm, film 6pm) – the beloved 1987 supernatural horror-comedy following two brothers who discover their new town is a haven for vampires, starring Kiefer Sutherland and Corey Feldman. Then stay on for Halloween (1978) (doors 8pm, film 8.15pm), John Carpenter’s legendary slasher, with centuries-old timber beams and flickering candlelight making the perfect backdrop for Michael Myers’ Halloween night rampage. Recommended for horror fans and anyone brave enough to spend the evening in one of Leicester’s most haunted historic buildings.

Xtreme Scream Park at Twinlakes
Various dates throughout October, and 1st November
Adults only! Lock in that babysitter, because this one’s strictly grown-ups only. Twinlakes’ family-friendly theme park transforms after dark into the Midlands’ biggest scare event, with seven spine-chilling scare mazes, roaming scare actors, stilt walkers, fire performers and live street theatre. There’s a fully stocked bar and street food to refuel between screams, plus a “zombie paintball” attraction for the brave.
Tickets: All Haunts (Phase 3 release, 25% off, limited) from £30.71-£37.46, plus £1.25 booking fee. Xtreme Fast Track (jump the queues, includes park entry – no standard ticket needed) from £55.25-£62.45, plus £1.25 booking fee.
