The go-to guide for you and your child

Winner’s Review of Ralph Court Gardens

We were really excited to be able to offer a family ticket for free entry to Ralph Court Gardens this spring.  The competition went down so well, our friends at Ralph Court Gardens have offered a similar competition for the summer.  Final chance to enter is 27th July so be quick… enter today!

The winner of the spring tickets was Lauren Edwards, who was delighted to win, and had such a great time when she visited with her children.  So much so, she sent in this great review:

Ralph Court Gardens is a hidden gem nestled just a few miles out of Bromyard and made up of 15 themed gardens which you can explore at your own pace.

There are statues, water features, picture boards, replica animals, moving dinosaurs, pretend smoke, ALL sorts of things! It really is quite spectacular.

The gardens are very child friendly. There are pushchair friendly ramps and paths throughout. There are various water features but they have been fenced off as much as possible to stop toddlers falling in.

The dinosaur garden is particularly impressive and suitably realistic. There is a Monet garden where you can stand on the famous bridge across the pond and it looks like your family is the picture in the frame. There is an Alice in Wonderland section, a Chinese garden with a mini bridge and a big gong, a replica train station with Paddington bear, a rolling stone leading to bubbling potions, an African garden with a waterfall and jungle music, a lake with dragon eggs and a smoking dragon!

The photos and description don’t possibly do it justice. Definitely one to tick off the bucket list, especially if you have friends and family visiting.

There is a cafe on site so picnicking is not allowed. Can sit inside, in their conservatory or outside on a terrace in the sun. They offer a (pre booking only) Alice in Wonderland themed cream tea from 2pm.

There is a gift shop and baby friendly toilets.

There are so many intriguing things to look at. The kids just loved exploring and going in whichever direction took their fancy. You can spend hours there.

There is a fountain that plays music and the water dances along to it, a replica pirate ship where you can turn the steering wheel and ring the bell, a beautiful pond with fountains and intricately decorated with mermaids, shells and fish.

All of my kids aged from 1 to 11 loved it as much as the next. Even adults can’t help but be in awe of it all.

The plants are aptly fitted to each garden, such as the red roses in the Wonderland section. There are chickens pottering around the caravan in the Wind in the Willows area.

It is guide dogs only.

They do special events at Christmas and Halloween which are very highly spoken of.

There is ample free parking, plenty of seating for rest stops and lots of photo ops around the site.

We would definitely recommend a visit!

Thank you for organising the competition and this wonderful prize. We had a lovely day out and have been telling our friends all about it.

Best wishes – Lauren (Perry, 11, Madeline, 10, Ivor, 6, Dillon, 3 and Delilah, 1)

Will you be the winner of the next free family ticket?  Maybe… but only if you enter the competition!
