The Ultimate Altrincham Pudding Competition returns – A Taste of Altrincham

As Part of A Taste of Altrincham, Altrincham BID Launches Second Annual Pudding Competition to Find the Town’s Ultimate Dessert

Altrincham BID is delighted to announce the return of the Ultimate Altrincham Pudding Competition, back for its second year as part of A Taste of Altrincham.

Running from Friday 27th February to Sunday 7th March 2026, the town will once again celebrate its vibrant food scene, and residents of all ages are invited to get creative in the kitchen. The competition challenges entrants to design a dessert or cake that truly captures the spirit, character and flavour of Altrincham.

New for 2026, the competition will this year feature three categories including children, students and adults.

Whether inspired by Altrincham’s rich history, its lively markets, independent businesses or the warmth of the local community, entrants are encouraged to create a pudding that tells a story and reflects what makes the town special.

Finalists will be invited to present their creations to a panel of judges, to be announced soon, at a special live judging event hosted at Altrincham Town Hall on Saturday 7th March at 2pm. Tickets for the event are free but must be reserved in advance via Eventbrite.co.uk.

The overall winning dessert will be crowned the Official Altrincham Pudding 2026, earning ultimate bragging rights and a place in the town’s culinary history.

“This is an incredible opportunity for the community to showcase their creativity and passion for food. Following the success of last year’s competition, we cannot wait to see how entrants of all ages interpret the unique essence of Altrincham in their desserts.”

To enter

• Submit your Altrincham inspired recipe with images of your pudding or cake on email to info@altrinchambid.com
• There are three categories in the competition, please state which category you are entering:
  • Children (up to age 11)
  • Student (11+ currently in education)
  • Adult
• Entries must be submitted by midnight on Monday 23rd February
• Entries will be reviewed and a shortlist of finalists will be selected
• Finalists will be invited to bring their pudding or cake to an event at Altrincham Town Hall on Saturday 7th March at 2pm where the judges will select a winner in each category
