All Aboard! Kids Ride for Just £1 on the Severn Valley Railway This Half Term

Looking for a fun, affordable family day out this May half term? Hop on the Severn Valley Railway this half term, where kids can travel for just £1 each from 24 May to 1 June 2025!

With the ‘Kids for a Quid’ offer, up to four children (ages 4–17) can enjoy a full day of steam-powered adventures for just £1 each when accompanied by an adult holding a Freedom of the Line ticket. Even better—children under three always travel free!

Your journey takes you along a 12-mile stretch of scenic countryside between Kidderminster and Hampton Loade, with heritage steam and diesel trains, wildlife spotting, and charming period stations to explore. There’s loads to see and do along the way, including:

  • 🚂 The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley – with interactive exhibits, historic locomotives, a royal carriage, and the return of Train Time UK (26–30 May), a giant-sized children’s train set that kids absolutely loved during Easter!

  • 🌳 Riverside walks and picnic spots at Bewdley

  • 🎟️ On-site cafés, shops, and more

The team at Severn Valley Railway says it best: “We want to help families create lasting memories—without breaking the bank.”

📅 When: Saturday 24 May – Sunday 1 June 2025
🎫 Where to book: svr.co.uk – or buy on the day at any SVR booking office
📍 Note: Due to a landslip earlier this year, Bridgnorth station remains temporarily closed, so services currently run between Kidderminster and Hampton Loade.

Don’t miss this chance to step back in time and share the magic of steam railways with your family!
