Paint Altrincham Pink 2023

Paint Altrincham Pink

The town’s businesses will ‘Paint Altrincham Pink’ for two-weeks from Monday 6th March to Sunday 19th March.

Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (Altrincham BID) has been working with local charity Prevent Breast Cancer, based at the Nightingale Centre, Wythenshawe, and the charity’s ambassadors, to encourage the town’s businesses to get involved.

The fortnight’s programme of events will include the SS23 Paint Altrincham Pink Fashion Show produced by Altrincham BID with Laundry B, Skanda, The Edit and Underfound at House Kitchen and Bar on Thursday 16th March. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.co.uk. There will also be a Flamingos in the Windows’ family town trail and a map will be downloadable from VisitAltrincham.com. Families are encouraged to find the Flamingos hiding in the windows of shops and businesses around the town. Solve the clue for a chance to win a family pass to the Everyman Altrincham.

Other highlights include a ‘Pretty in Pink’ film screening at the Everyman Altrincham on Tuesday 7th March, ‘Pink the Rink’ when Manchester Storm take on Fife Flyers on Saturday 18th March, and a ‘Pretty in Pink’ live music event at Toast on Saturday 11th March. Many of the town’s businesses are getting involved by decorating their windows and supporting the fundraising effort with pink afternoon teas and cakes, pink workouts and even pink cocktails. More information can be found on the flyer and on VisitAltrincham.com.

Mandy White, Altrincham’s BID Manager explained, “Altrincham’s businesses have once again really got behind the fundraising effort for Prevent Breast Cancer. This year there are more events than ever and it’s great to see Paint Altrincham Pink going from strength to strength. There is a huge amount of local support for the charity, and we would really encourage everyone to take a look at the flyer and get involved either by attending some of the events or enjoying some pink treats!

Caroline Bennison from Prevent Breast Cancer explained, “We’re delighted that so many businesses, schools and community groups are getting involved in Paint Altrincham Pink this year and that there are so many fantastic events taking place. Since 2018 over £55,000 has been raised to help fund our vital research to prevent breast cancer and protect future generations. The fortnight is all about raising awareness as well as fundraising but also importantly, having some fun. We are very grateful for the support of the Altrincham’s businesses, our ambassadors, Altrincham BID and to the community as we know they will come out in force to enjoy everything that’s going on.
