Halloween Trails at Raby Castle

Halloween Trails at Raby Castle

This Halloween, we are offering not one but TWO terrific daytime trails at Raby Castle:

Witches & Wizards Trail in the Deer Park

Halloween Trail at The Plotter’s Forest

Saturday 15th – Sunday 30th October

Join our Witches and Wizards Trail outside the castle and explore the ponds and parkland to collect a series of clues. Grab your broomstick and prepare your most spooktacular outfit to take part in our Witches and Wizards Academy. Follow our activity sheet on a spellbinding quest around the Deer Park to discover magical creatures and hunt for clues.

Then brave the fearsome forest and keep an eye out for any spooky visitors who may be lurking about the Halloween Trail at The Plotters’ Forest.  From scary spiders to a howling wolf and if you’re lucky you might even glimpse a mystic unicorn amongst the treetops.

These two daytime trails are included with every Plotters’ Forest and Deer Park ticket.

Pumpkin Competition

Families can also bring along their best-dressed pumpkins throughout the October half term for the chance to win a 2023 Raby Estates annual pass. The pumpkins will be displayed for all to see in Hunters Yard and our Head Gardener, Tim Marshall, will select the winning pumpkin. We can’t wait to see your designs!

Halloween Forest School at Raby Castle
Halloween Forest School

Bright Woods Forest School return again this Halloween to take an interactive journey around at Raby castle.

Monday 24th & Tuesday 25th October

10.30am & 1.30pm

Recommended for ages 3+

Approximately 1.5 hours

Based on the story Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, we invite you to join us on our ramble around Raby Castle. Taking in fun activities on the route, help the witch and her companions navigate their flight, but look out for that dangerous dragon with a hunger for ‘witch and chips’ for his tea. If we make it past the dragon we will celebrate with a toasted marshmallow around the campfire.

Places are limited on our broom so please make sure you book early for our flights!
