The Havering Museum
The Havering Museum
The Havering Museum located in Romford Town Centre and is open Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.
This museum takes you back in time through the years of history to present day by celebrating all of the achievements the local people of Havering have had. You will have the chance to explore all of the different areas which make up the London Borough of Havering and how the borough is now formed and developed over time.
The museum itself was first born from dedication and hard work from a small group of local people made up from both librarians and historians coming together to create this fantastic venue.
Back in 2008 and in partnership with the council the project received a heritage lottery grant which allowed its launch in May 2010 and is still volunteer led until today.
The original use of this building was as an original Romford Brewery and the reception and shop remain at the old main entrance. The museum has two galleries which explore the local history in an easy to understand and educational way.
