There’s so much to see, do and discover on a day out at the Severn Valley Railway, including FREE ENTRY to The Engine House Visitor Centre. Alight at Highley Station and then it’s just a short walk to The Engine House where you can get close to some very special locomotives, including ‘Gordon’ the blue engine, and take a peek through the windows of King George VI’s royal carriage. There’s a café, balcony to watch the trains, gift shop and interactive exhibits for all the family to enjoy.
Plus, there’ll be plenty of family fun, with story time appearances from the much-loved character Bluey. Tickets can be pre-booked for Saturday 28 – Sunday 29 March.
Trains operate between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth. The trains stop at all of our intermediate stations, so you can get off to explore Bewdley, Arley, Highley and Hampton Loade. Find out more about our stations and what to do. At Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, the trains take a short break, so you can see the locomotives up close.
Easter fun at The Engine House, Highley
From Tuesday 31 March – Thursday 9 April, there’s lots of Easter family fun for all.
The Train Fireman has gone missing, and he just happens to be the Easter Bunny (a puppet white rabbit!). Without him, the train can’t run.
After leaving the train at Highley and making your way to The Engine House, enjoy a fun interactive welcome performance where youngsters are recruited as “Junior Railway Helpers” and are set the challenge of tracking down the missing rabbit.
On the hour, our flustered train driver will be briefing families and setting them off to find the clues. As you make your way around The Engine House, use your detective skills to search for egg-shaped clues and if you manage to find the puppet white rabbit, a small tasty treat awaits! Can you help get the train back on track?
