Herd In The City

This summer, a free, family art trail that leaves an impression will be parading into Southend-on-Sea.

Created by Havens Hospices and Wild in Art, Herd In The City is set to take to the streets of Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea and Shoeburyness from Friday 14 July to Monday 4 September.

The art trail will see more than 45 large elephant sculptures dotted around the city, each sponsored by a local business and painted by a professional artist in varying styles.

Alongside these will be over 70 ‘mini herds’ of baby elephants, adopted and decorated by a school or community group, making art accessible to all.

Trail maps will be available from several locations, including Havens Hospices charity shops and our Herd HQ in Southend. You can also download the Herd In The City app from the App Store or Google Play.
