Fossil Fun Weekend at Thinktank
Do you have what it takes to be a fossil hunter?
Come and enjoy a long weekend of family fossil fun at Thinktank to celebrate the birthday of Mary Anning, a prehistoric pioneer!
Mary Anning was born on the 25th May 1799 and she dug up the first ever skeleton of an Ichthyosaur – a giant fish-like dinosaur – when she was just 12 years old! Mary spent her life collecting, sharing and studying fossils. She was a fantastic female scientist whose story is often overlooked.
We’ll be celebrating her legacy at Thinktank with our own fossil collections, and lots of exciting talks and activities:
- Meet Mary Anning and ask her all about her prehistoric discoveries!
- Join in with our crafting activities and make your own dinosaurs
