Christmas Concert at Royal Hospital School
Christmas Concert with the Holbrook Choral Society, Royal Hospital School Chapel Choir, Royal Hospital School Chamber Choir, Reade Chamber Ensemble.
Bob Chilcott’s On Christmas Night offers a fresh and atmospheric retelling of the Christmas story through a sequence of beautifully crafted carols. Blending familiar melodies with Chilcott’s own distinctive choral voice, the work moves between moments of tenderness, reflection and joyful celebration, from the stillness of A Spotless Rose to the festive energy of Rejoice and be merry. Combining tradition, warmth and expressive variety, it has quickly become a much-loved addition to the modern Christmas choral repertoire.
The second half of the concert will consist of some festive favourites, with numerous sing-along carols and a delightful array of joyful works interspersed with some much-loved Christmastide readings.
Pre-concert drinks from 6.30pm, and interval bar.
