British Science Week
Are you celebrating British Science Week’s 30th birthday this year?
8-17 March 2024 marks this huge milestone and there’s lots to help you mark the occasion!
Head to the British Science Week website and find out about events you can take part in at home and at school, as well as tips and guides on planning your own celebrations.
Visit our Communities’ hub for ideas on how to explore science in your community groups – from sciencetokkers (yes, TikTok is a great place for science inspo!) to the amazing Smashing Stereotypes campaign, which digs deep into the journeys and stories of everyday scientists (spoiler, you might not think they’d all be considered ‘scientists’!)
Free and fun-filled activity packs are available to download, guiding children, young people and even adults to make biodegradable plastic (p25), investigate rainfall (p18) and create a wonderful memento from a nature walk (p11).
British Science Week have teamed up with Nature’s Calendar to get people observing signs of spring and with Royal Museums Greenwich to explore the depths of time – this year’s theme – from centuries past to the current day.
Why not get creative and enter the poster competition to give yourself a chance of winning some amazing prizes?
