The Codsall Hive
"You can't use up creativity, the more you use the more you have." Unfortunately in this digital age of Wii, Playstations, Laptops, Ipads and TV on-demand there is little time or inclination to turn them off and get creative at home, but a new cafe in Codsall has the answer!
The Codsall Hive in Codsall, Wolverhampton is a brand new business unlike anywhere you have ever been. Based on the ethos that art is good for the soul, essential for learning and just plain good fun, this is a place where you can get messy, create something unique and have a great coffee all at the same time.
Opened in May 2013 the creative cafe offers a huge array of arty activities, there is a kiln on site so pottery painting is always on offer any day of the week. They also offer a selection of 'anytime table activities' ranging from good old fashioned painting to clay-play or cutting and sticking suitable for younger customers. Then there's beading, badgemaking or Decopatch paper-crafts to keep older children busy. All come on a tray to your table with squash and a biscuit included in the cost.
There's always a range of after-school, holiday and Saturday morning art clubs or drop-in sessions from learn to sew, Clay class or junk modelling. Then there are the arty-party packages, ideal for a creative child's birthday.
They say the creative adult is the child who survived, so for grown up artists there are regular craft evenings where you can bring your own portable craft to do in company, or a program of specific creative sessions such as cupcake decorating, bunting making or sketching classes and textile workshops.
In short The Codsall Hive is a creative hub for all ages. Serving up delicious Illy Coffee, home-made cakes and a crafty welcome there is much, much more to this Cafe that first meets the eye.
Open Monday to Saturday 9am-5.30pm and Sundays 10am-1pm. Find out more on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/thehivecodsall or call 01902 842771.
