Springs Dance Academy was founded in 2005. Springs quickly became reknowned for being a dance school that nurtures creative talent and providing a high standard of technical training, whilst placing the dancers’ well-being, enjoyment and confidence at the heart of everything.
Springs is run by Anna Bird and her mum, Mandy Toner. Anna is also a qualified secondary school teacher and worked as a head of department for 8 years before leaving in 2021 to run the dance academy full time. Together with a team of home-grown teachers, Anna and Mandy have developed their own unique teaching style to enable every dancer to reach their full potential and love the art of dance. We teach weekly classes in ballet, tap, jazz, theatre craft, musical theatre, contemporary and commercial.
We are so proud that our students choose to pursue dance beyond our dance school and we currently have post-16 students studying dance courses at King Edward VI College, Kidderminster College and BOA. We have also had post-18 students successfully audition for prestigious professional dance schools including Performers College, Addict Dance Academy, University of Gloucester, London Contemporary Dance School and Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.
We are also so proud to have nurtured dancers who have gone on to become accountants, teachers, nurses, paramedics and a whole host of other careers. Dance really is for everyone and teaches life-long skills outside of the studio.
