Situated in the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle, Seven Stories is the National Centre for Children’s Books. We bring together original manuscripts & artwork from some of this country’s best loved children’s books. Seven Stories creates an ever changing story book landscape of exhibitions, activities & events for all ages, designed to inspire ideas of the imagination. To take you into the magical world of children’s stories. How books are made, where they come from and how we can enjoy and share them. It’s a great day out for the whole family!
Entry to the museum is FREE. This includes all galleries, our independent bookshop, and coffee shop. There is no need to book.
Everyday is Story Time – just £2 per child (babies under 12 months go free). We love sharing and telling stories – and the choices are endless! Every day our storytellers captivate young and old with tales from our favourite books. We bring books to life through playful activities and exhibitions, displaying real artwork and manuscripts from famous children’s authors and illustrators.
Join in with arts and craft activities and make your own special creations to take home with you.
Exciting Events – we have a packed year round events programme for all ages – including visiting authors, illustrators, workshops, talks, performances and much more. These are usually ticketed and do cost extra. Do check our website for details.
Seven Stories – Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, six days a week in term time (closed on Wednesdays). We are open seven days a week during school holidays.
