Little Art Lab – Creative classes, workshops and parties for little artists in Wolverhampton

Julianne Cash, founder of Little Art Lab tells us more…

At Little Art Lab, I believe that art isn’t just about creating something that looks good; it’s about exploring, experimenting, using your imagination and having fun.
Little Art Lab gives children a space where they can be creative without worrying about getting things “right”.

Sessions encourage curiosity and imagination while giving children the opportunity to explore a wide range of art materials, techniques and creative processes.

Whether your little one is discovering paint for the first time, making their own creations from recycled materials, or developing their artistic skills through more ambitious projects, there’s a place for them at Little Art Lab.

Creative classes for every age

I run a range of weekly classes in Wolverhampton, designed around the different stages of children’s development.

A lovely first introduction to creative play, combining art, sensory exploration, music and messy fun. Little ones can explore materials and make their own marks while developing those all-important early skills.

✂️Mini Makers — 2 to 4 years
Creative, hands-on sessions where little makers can paint, stick, cut, build and experiment. Each week brings something new to discover, with activities designed to encourage creativity, independence and confidence while supporting children’s early development and learning.

An after-school creative course giving children the chance to really explore their creativity. We explore different artists, techniques and materials, with plenty of freedom for children to develop their own ideas and artistic style. Each child gets their own sketchbook and the course ends with a mini exhibition that friends and family can attend.

Creative learning through art, designed especially for home-educated children. Sessions explore different themes, artists, techniques and creative processes in a relaxed, hands-on environment. Children are also encouraged to work together and build relationships. Children are also encouraged to work collaboratively, share ideas and build friendships.

More than just weekly classes

Alongside weekly classes, Little Art Lab also runs school holiday art camps and one-off themed workshops, giving children the chance to spend their holidays making, creating and experimenting in a fun, welcoming environment. The summer holiday camps were a great success earlier this year, as were our one-off workshops themed around Pokémon, Mario and K-Pop Demon Hunters. We have plenty more creative holiday sessions planned throughout the year.

I also offer Little Art Parties at weekends, held in my dedicated creative space in Wolverhampton. Parties are around two hours and can be completely tailored to your child, with a range of arts and crafts activities to choose from. Food and party bags can also be included as optional extras. Prices depend on the number of guests, the activity chosen and any extras you’d like to include. I’m happy to chat with parents about their ideas and create a party that feels special to their child — there’s no one-size-fits-all package!

I also provide creative workshops for schools, nurseries and other community settings, bringing Little Art Lab’s hands-on approach to children wherever they are.

Little Art Lab Wolverhampton Mini MakersThe story behind Little Art Lab

Little Art Lab began while I was on maternity leave with my youngest child. As a mum, an experienced primary school teacher and someone with a degree in Illustration, I’ve always had a real passion for both creativity and working with children.

During my time teaching, I saw first-hand how important opportunities for creativity, exploration and self-expression are for children. I also saw how much children learn through hands-on experiences, particularly when they’re given the freedom to experiment and discover things for themselves.

While I was on maternity leave, I started thinking about how I could bring my two passions together. I wanted to create something that combined my background in illustration and art with my experience of working with children, while also creating something that fitted around family life. And so, Little Art Lab was born.

I wanted to create the kind of creative environment I would want for my own children, somewhere children can get stuck in, make a mess, try something new and feel proud of what they’ve created.

There isn’t one “right” way to make art at Little Art Lab. A child’s creation doesn’t have to look exactly like the example. In fact, I love seeing how differently every child approaches the same activity.

My aim is for children to leave each session thinking “I’m so happy with my creation!” and feeling excited about what they might create next.

Come and get creative with us!

Whether you’re looking for a weekly creative class, a school holiday activity, a children’s party or a creative workshop, I’d love to welcome you to Little Art Lab.
