Review: Golden Gecko Climbing Centre

Activities, Places2go
Children enjoying climbing sessions at Golden Gecko in Romsey, Southampton climbing club

Golden Gecko Climbing Centre in Romsey is the perfect, all weather activity. Whether you’re looking for rainy day activities, you want to get out the sun, on your own or in a group you’ll have a great time.

Stress free activity.

There’s no hassle from the moment you arrive, parking is free and right next door to the centre to make life easy. Choice of non supervised or supervised sessions so you can sit back and relax in the café and there’s school holiday clubs too.

Friendly staff!

Really friendly, welcoming staff who make sure you’re comfortable, safe and ready to have a good time. It’s a fantastic family atmosphere, but no flossing, they don’t like flossing! (the dance not the dental care)

Fun for everyone!

Huge amount of fun and it doesn’t matter if you have no experience it will still put a big smile on your face, you just need to be age 5 or over. There are climbing routes to suit all abilities, follow the coloured coded grips depending on how gecko-like you’re feeling!

Auto belay wall

Which means you don’t need to worry about falling.  If you let go of the wall or slip the rope gently lowers you to the ground.  The decent is just as much fun as the climbing!

Off peak sessions too.

They offer a reduced rate during the week in term times.  If you home educate, have a school inset day or fancy trying climbing with a friend and no children you may be able to take advantage!

Birthday Parties

Have a birthday? Young or Old!  (My young neice and I have both had Golden Gecko parties!) You can have a party with up to 19 friends on the Auto Belay Wall and use the party room afterwards.  Catering is available or you can bring your own food.

For more information or to book, see Golden Gecko’s website.
