Marwell Zoo

Marwell Zoo

Embrace your wild side at Marwell Zoo! Home to hundreds of endangered and exotic species in 140 acres of beautiful parkland, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy and admire. From Amur tigers and cheeky meerkats, to white rhino, lizards and snow leopards; Marwell offers you the chance to get up close to the amazing members of the animal kingdom.

The zoo is owned and operated by conservation charity Marwell Wildlife, so, by visiting, you’ll be contributing to incredible projects to conserve species and habitats both in Hampshire and around the world.

Step into paradise at the ‘Energy for Life’ Tropical House. This innovative and sustainable exhibit shows off a stunning environment where summer is eternal, and colourful birds are free to fly overhead. Peer through lush foliage and get face-to-face with a Linne’s two-toed sloth by the cascading waterfall. As you walk through this immersive exhibit, enjoy the vibrant colours of hundreds of exotic plants and learn all about the flow of energy through life.

Loopy for lemurs? Look out for Lemur Loop! This walkthrough exhibit allows guests to get up close to several species of lemur in their impressive outdoor habitat. During colder seasons, guests can see the loveable lemur troop through the indoor viewing area in the Evolution Hub.

Don’t forget to go wild in the five adventure playgrounds where little monkeys from 0-14 years can safely play!

2020 is set to be an exciting year at the zoo with the addition of their new event SUPERSIZED! The larger than life brick adventure features up to 40 models of real-life creatures with an explosion of colour and size. From sneaky predators such as the fearless honey badger and venomous blue-ringed octopus, to the aptly named assassin bug, all creatures have been chosen for their colourful appearance in nature, unusual natural abilities and because they can be magnified to an eye-popping size.

Guests visiting the park will be able to play games, build their own models, create toy brick graffiti and find out how the expert model makers use tiny toy bricks to build the eyes of these huge creatures.

Plus, from Summer 2020 enjoy a new wallaby walkthrough experience, including an idyllic dwell area and natural seating – the perfect spot for relaxation.

Keep an eye out for new arrivals around the zoo throughout the year! Marwell Zoo is open daily from 10am, 363 days a year. Closing times and admissions prices vary. Please check the Marwell website for full ticket prices and other details.
