Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Curve

Golden Tickets at the ready. Curve is opening the gates to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory this Christmas.

Roald Dahl’s much-loved story gets the full Made at Curve treatment, and it looks set to be a big one. Charlie Bucket, Grandpa Joe and the Oompa-Loompas are all there. So are Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teavee, each heading for their own sticky end.

Expect a chocolate river, a Great Glass Elevator and plenty of Wonka weirdness along the way. It’s directed by Nikolai Foster, the man behind Curve’s Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde and The Sound of Music. You’ll also hear The Candy Man, The Oompa Loompa Song and, of course, Pure Imagination. Try not to hum it all the way home.

With an age guide of 8+ and a running time of around two and a half hours (including a 20 minute interval), this one’s best for older children. It would make a brilliant festive treat for the whole family, grown-ups included!
