Horrible Histories Takeover at Raby Castle

Raby Castle, Park and Gardens is turning back the clock to the Measly Middle-Ages. With dark knights, savage sieges and foul food – come and explore Raby’s crackin’ castle as seen through the eyes of the bestselling Horrible Histories books written by Terry Deary and illustrated by Martin Brown, published by Scholastic.

A new trail through the medieval fortress will show Raby Castle in a whole new light, with an accompanying Terrific Trail sheet to guide families through a cast of memorable characters, from powerful nobles to pitiful peasants.

Raby’s medieval guard room will also be transformed into a space packed with activities exploring medieval life including fabulous feasts and painful punishments.
