At Codsall Community Nursery, we offer an enquiry led curriculum, which focuses on being responsive to children’s interests in order to create meaningful learning experiences. This philosophy involves active participation, strong attachments and relationship building, child led enquiry and play-based learning.
Our enquiry led curriculum starts with the child, follows their lead and provides opportunities for our skilled team of early years professionals to scaffold children’s learning further.
Our nursery environment allows children to explore their areas of interest, moving freely around the setting and playing together to develop new ideas. Our equipment, toys and resources are stored at children’s level in order for them to be fully accessible to the children, visually and physically. We offer open ended materials which encourage children to experience and manipulate materials in different ways.
Curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which includes four distinct but complementary principles, which shape and underpins our practice.
Location
We are situated in the heart of Codsall Village, within the Community Hub, just a 5 minute walk from the train station, on main public transport routes and close to local amenities.
Our wonderful location allows the children to visit the library every week as well as having GP surgery, wellbeing services, local police and a café onsite. We are also within walking distance of the church, local schools and shops, meaning our children have plenty of opportunity to explore their local community.
Our safe and secure garden and courtyard provides our children with free flow outdoor play opportunities.
