Talbot Heath Nursery Launches for Girls Aged 2 in the Heart of Talbot Woods, Bournemouth

New Nursery At Talbot Heath School.

Talbot Heath School is excited to announce the launch of Talbot Heath Nursery, welcoming girls from age 2 in January 2025. Nestled within the school’s own stunning forest site in Talbot Woods, the nursery offers a unique, home-from-home environment where young minds are nurtured through a blend of curiosity, adventure, and compassion.

One example of what sets Talbot Heath Nursery apart is its Forest School. Every Friday, children explore the outdoors during Forest School sessions, fostering independence, resilience, and a deeper connection to nature. These woodland adventures are designed to build confidence through risk-taking and problem-solving, all in a safe, nurturing setting.

Running alongside the new nursery is the school’s highly popular Family and Toddler Group, Honey Bees, which welcomes babies and children up to 4 years old. Honey Bees runs on Fridays during term time, offering an enriching environment where families can enjoy activities with their toddlers in the same beautiful woodland setting.

At Talbot Heath Nursery, child-led learning is at the heart of its educational philosophy. Young learners explore topics that inspire curiosity and creativity, while a specialist Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teacher guides their development. The nursery’s thoughtfully designed curriculum covers all seven areas of the Early Years framework, with a focus on communication and language development through storytelling, nursery rhymes, and oracy activities.

Another key feature of Talbot Heath Nursery is its emphasis on fostering generous hearts. The kindness curriculum encourages children to share, listen, and build strong relationships with their peers, promoting empathy and cooperation.

As well as accepting Early Years funding and child care vouchers, Nursery fees are VAT- exempt, offering parents financial peace of mind as they provide their children with the best possible start to their educational journey.

“We are thrilled to be launching Talbot Heath Nursery, where our youngest learners will benefit from an enriching, supportive, and engaging early years education,” said Liz Pugh, Head of Junior School. “Our focus on child-led learning, outdoor exploration, and values-based education ensures that every child flourishes both academically and emotionally.”
