The Hill is the beating heart of The Betfred Derby Festival where we invite everyone to join in and experience the unique carnival atmosphere. The fun runs all day with food & drink, big screens, a market and funfair.
DerbyFest – Made for families
The Hill remains a completely free to enter enclosure across both days of the Betfred Derby Festival, continuing its long tradition as one of the most accessible and welcoming vantage points in British Sport. Spectators are invited to enjoy the action however they choose to arrive, whether by foot, car or bike, with all parking on The Hill free of charge.This year, we are also excited to be working with Queensberry to introduce DerbyFest.
This is a brand-new ticketed fan and family zone situated in the heart of The Hill and completely free to enter.
DerbyFest is set to revolutionise the iconic space, bringing a fresh, dynamic twist to a space enjoyed by thousands every year. It will blend the vibrant traditions of The Hill with a modern festival experience, creating a destination for families, racing fans and day-trippers alike.
Across both the Friday and Saturday, festival goers can expect a buzzing atmosphere, centred around the brand-new DerbyFest Main Stage. Whilst the headline act will be The Original Derby, visitors can also look forward to a packed schedule of chart-topping musical acts, show-stopping live entertainment, and interactive moments throughout the day. The stage will host everything from high energy performances to special guest appearances, giving fans the chance to get up close to celebrities, well-known personalities and even Derby winning jockeys.
The Funfair
Dare devils and thrill seekers head to the Funfair on The Hill!
- Open from 11am – 7pm for the two days of The Betfred Derby Festival
- Tokens will be available to buy from the Funfair operators.
- Free pedestrian access
BBQS
BBQs are back! Only for Derby weekend, bring your own BBQ and enjoy a great day out on The Hill.
- BBQs are permitted to be used in the designated area on The Hill
- Look out for the flags which mark the area or please ask one of our event staff for guidance.
- BBQs must be raised from the ground. Disposable ones are not permitted.
- Please use the BBQ bins provided for the safe disposal of hot ash
- Free pedestrian access.
