The switch on of the Christmas lights marks the start of the festivities in many town centres across Solihull and Warwickshire. Get into the Christmas spirit and head along to your local event.

14 November 2026 – Stratford Upon Avon

Stratford-upon-Avon’s Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday 14 November 2026, with a day of festive events in the town centre from 10am to 7pm and the big switch-on at 5.30pm. Father Christmas and the Mayor of Stratford, Sam McNaught Barrow, will turn the lights on.

14 November 2026 – Touchwood, Solihull

he festive season officially begins at Touchwood on Saturday 14th November, and you’re invited to join the celebrations! From 2pm – Light Switch-On Party – Get into the Christmas spirit with DJ Mark and the Touchwood Tornado! Expect festive tunes, family fun and the chance to win gift cards and other great prizes. 4.30pm – The Big Countdown! – Join the cast of Peter Pan from The Core Theatre as they lead the magical countdown and switch on Touchwood’s sparkling Christmas lights!

15 November 2026 – Leamington Spa (The Parade)

The Christmas market opens from 10am, offering a chance to browse a variety of stalls and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Stage entertainment begins at 3pm, leading up to the spectacular Christmas lights switch-on at 5.30pm, lighting up the town and officially kicking off the festive season.

25 November 2026 – Dorridge

The Dorridge Christmas Lights Switch-On takes place on 25 November at 5.30pm. The big red and white man himself (Santa, in case you were wondering!) will be responsible for pressing the big switch to ensure everyone ooh’s and aaah’s when the lights go on. You can also enjoy live Christmas music, food and drink, and a mini fun fair.

26 November 2026 – Knowle

The festive season is just around the corner – and in Knowle, that can only mean one thing: our much-loved Late Night Shopping and Christmas Light Switch-On is back! Mark your calendars, because this year’s celebrations take place on Thursday 26th November from 4:00pm. It promises to be a magical evening full of community spirit, twinkling lights, and festive cheer.

26 November 2026 – Warwick

Enjoy a festive evening in historic Warwick on Thursday 26 November 2026 as the Victorian Evening returns to Market Place and the surrounding streets. This free celebration runs from 3pm to 9pm, with a Victorian market, themed rides, entertainers and a main stage bringing seasonal atmosphere to the town centre. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 7pm.

27 November 2026 – Kenilworth

Celebrate the season at the community lights switch-on event, featuring festive entertainment and a joyful atmosphere for all ages. Indulge in a variety of delicious food and drink offerings from nearby businesses, and soak up the holiday spirit with friends, family, and neighbours. It’s a wonderful way to welcome the festive season together. Lights switch on at 6pm.

27 November 2026 – Balsall Common

Santa and his sleigh arriving at 4:00pm met with choirs of children from Balsall Common Primary School and Lady Katherine Leveson Primary School who will sing carols before the lights are switched on at 5:00pm ……………………. everyone is very welcome!

28 November 2026 – Cubbington

15:00 – 19:00. Come and celebrate Christmas with the Cubbington Lights Switch On. Expect hot food, a cosy bar and the magical moment of lighting up at the Chritmas Tree. This year also features a land train running from the village centre to the bottom of Queen Street, taking visitors on a journey to the North Pole. Bring friends and family to soak up the magical atmosphere and kick off the holidays in style.

28 November 2026 – Shirley

After such a brilliant turnout last year, we are back! Come along and embrace the season’s spirit as you discover a treasure trove of unique handmade crafts, delightful treats, and festive joy. We’ll also be joining the Friends of Shirley Park Light Switch On and invite you back to finish off your evening with festive drinks at the club!

29 November 2026 – Whitnash

The second year being held at the Civic Centre, expect funfair rides, crafts, treats and a chance to meet Father Christmas. Lights Switch on at 6pm

29 November 2026 – Southam

3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Tithe Place. The popular annual Christmas Lights switch-on is on again this year! Stalls, Funfair, Music, Father Christmas. Switch on at 5pm.

4 December 2026 – Hampton in Arden

Get ready for an evening filled with festive cheer as we gather to witness the magical moment when the Village of Hampton in Arden is illuminated with beautiful Christmas lights. But that’s not all! The event will be graced with the presence of Santa Claus himself, along with other special guests who will add an extra sprinkle of joy to the festivities. Mark your calendars and bring your family and friends along to join us. We can’t wait to see you there!

5 December 2026 – Catherine de Barnes

The annual Christmas Light switch on – including Christmas songs and nibbles – will be held on Saturday 6th December from 4.30pm. A children’s event will also be held between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

6 December 2026 – Cheswick Green

Join us for the Cheswick Green Parish’s traditional Christmas light switch-on and a festive evening for the whole community! The lights switch on at 5.00pm, with a visit from Santa and a family disco from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. There’ll be festive refreshments too, mulled wine and Cider. The event is free to attend. A free minibus will run from the Blythe Valley Co-op, starting at 4.15pm with return trips. Children must be supervised by an adult.
