The Oceanarium, the Bournemouth aquarium is inviting you to explore a FINtastic day of aquatic fun on Saturday 22 July to commemorate its 25th anniversary.

Take advantage of 25% off tickets online or at admissions from Friday 21 – Monday 24 July 2023 and make it a day to remember with the family!
Since opening its doors in 1998, the seafront attraction has connected families, friends and loved ones from around the world to the beauty and wonder of the aquatic world.

The Oceanarium celebrates its 25th anniversary with popular character meet and greets from your favourite TV shows, including SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Michelangelo, & Octonauts’ Captain Barnacles on SATURDAY 22ND JULY!

If that wasn’t enough to keep the little ones entertained, face painting will also be available in Bay View as well as chances to win prizes throughout the day.
To celebrate this incredible milestone even further, the Oceanarium is home to new exciting seacreatures including two cownose stingrays and a guitar fish which have settled in, in our popular Key West exhibit.

The Oceanarium is also very excited to reveal a penguin chick has joined the colony and will be on Penguin Beach, just in time for the celebrations!
Adding to the excitement, the Oceanarium has collaborated with St Michael’s Primary School for the 25th anniversary where year five students painted pebbles to be displayed on Penguin Beach.

Encounter in the shape of a 25 for the public to admire. The partnership made a full circle from when the local school collaborated with the aquarium 25 years ago by children laying bricks on the building ahead of its launch day in 1998.

Marketing Manager, Nicola said “We have come a long way over the last 25 years and the Oceanarium has played such a large role in people’s lives, seeing generations of families creating memories, whilst visiting us for a fun and educational day out. We have spent years dedicating time
to educate our visitors about the importance of conservation, and how they can contribute to help make the planet greener. It is important for us to celebrate its silver anniversary as a way to thank the millions of people that have visited from far and wide, to the locals and members who have supported us from the very start and have continued to do so throughout the years. The 25th anniversary is a
chance to have fun with your family and kickstart the summer holidays with a bang!”
