Step into the world of knights, legends and medieval adventure at Hever Castle from 22 July to 31 August 2026.

Celebrating 40 years of jousting, the Castle’s summer holiday programme offers one of Kent’s most exciting family days out, packed with live entertainment, interactive activities and outdoor adventures for children of all ages.

At the centre of the season is A Knight’s Tale, an interactive experience inviting families to step into the world of knights and legends. Visitors are welcomed as “squires for the day,” joining members of King Arthur’s court in a lively training experience that challenges courage, skill, and imagination. Designed for all ages, the experience blends theatre, play, and history into an engaging journey through the world of the Round Table.

The excitement continues as Hever Castle’s renowned jousting tournament returns in a spectacular celebration of its long-standing heritage. Skilled knights take to the arena in a thrilling display of horsemanship and medieval combat, complete with dramatic stunts, storytelling, and the roar of the crowd. Now marking four decades of jousting at Hever, the tournaments remain one of the UK’s most iconic and enduring live historical experiences.

Adding to the atmosphere, the skies above Hever will once again come alive with falconry twice daily displays from Willow’s Bird of Prey Centre. Visitors can witness magnificent birds of prey in free flight and gain a rare insight into the ancient art of falconry, with opportunities to see the birds up close after each display.
Across the castle grounds, the summer atmosphere continues with a host of lively, hands-on experiences for families. Younger visitors can enjoy face painting, while the bustling castle shop and pop-up stalls offer the chance to pick up shields, swords, knightly armour and other Hever-branded souvenirs.
